Akatsuki Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Silverton

UPDATE: The owner had been helpful regarding the mislabeled menu so I upped my stars from 1 to 3. I would be willing to return and see if the service has improved. I do think the edamame was a little over cooked and the Spring Rolls needed a bit more flavor. I will try the sashimi next time. Hopefully, the fish will be fresh and cold and the presentation appealing.

Average food, misleading menu. We had lunch here and ordered edamame, Miso soup, and spring rolls and Alaska roll. We also had hot green tea. The Alaska roll came out first. Proper order would have been the soup, the edamame, and then the rolls. The soup was mediocre, the tea was tea bags rather than a pot of tea, and was luke warm. The worst was that the menu said that the spring rolls were made with rice paper. Actually they were made with wheat wraps. This is a problem since my partner is allergic to gluten. They offered half off the next time we come but it is doubtful we will return. They should essentially have not charged for the Spring rolls or comped the meal. I know this is a new restaurant and they have a lot to learn but hopefully they will do better...

Owner/Manager: Visit 2/2/23, 1:30pm. Sushi was pretty good for our party of three but the younger female waitress (Asian ethnicity) was hard to deal with. No smiles, no warm welcomes. When we walked in she was playing iPad games at the hidden hostess spot, then we had to get up and seek her out when we wanted anything. I walked around the corner and found her sitting at a desk, playing iPad games again, which really irritated me. The other couple in the restaurant was also peeved, and glancing around like what the heck? Where’d she go?? I asked if we could get some service a few times, she never checked on us after bringing the food and had to remind her to bring water out (10 mins after being seated) she never refilled the tea with hot water.. wasn’t concerned about how our meal was. service makes or breaks a restaurant, hopefully they turn her loose and find...

The food was spot on! Good prices and delicious fish.

My experience as a customer was very sub par. We showed up an hour before close, the waitress completely ignored us for 20 minutes, so I went to ask if we could put our order in, considering now they close in only 40 minutes. The server was very defensive and rude when I asked, and very deadpan and standoffish when we eventually did order. About ten minutes after we got our food they started mopping the floor with bleach, the rest of the restaurant was empty except for us and when they began to mop they decided to start right next to our booth and ONLY mopped next to us before walking away. So now I'm smelling bleach while finishing my meal. Not the worst thing but also not super pleasant. Wouldn't eat in the restaurant again but would...
