We've been to Oso quite a few times now, and it continues to be one of our absolute favorite spots. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and welcoming, perfect for everything from a casual dinner with the kids to a more intimate date night. There's something about the vibe that makes you want to stay and enjoy every moment. One of the things we love most is the way the menu is designed for sharing. Whether we're with family, friends, or just the two of us, itâs easy (and fun!) to order a variety of dishes and sample everything together. It turns the meal into an experience rather than just a dinner, and every time, we leave happy and full. The food? Always delicious. From appetizers to desserts, Oso hits the mark. The carrots are hands down my favorite dish, somehow simple and absolutely unforgettable. Everything is plated beautifully, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. The drinks are also top-notch, creative, balanced, and a perfect pairing to the food. Weâve taken numerous friends and family members here when they visit, and it never disappoints. Itâs become our go-to recommendation for anyone asking where to eat locally. And we have to give a special shout-out to Karli, who is hands-down one of the best servers we've ever had. She's friendly, attentive, and just has a way of making you feel taken care of. We request her every time we go, and she always makes the night even better. Whether you're bringing the whole family or planning a special night out with your spouse, Oso delivers every time. Itâs one of those rare places that feels like a treat no matter the occasion....
Read moreIn a town that is in dire need of quality food, Oso had a rich opportunity to deliver. Their effort to stray away from pub food is commendable, their wine list not bad, however the experience left quality and class to be desired.
Upon arrival, the hostess sat us at a great seat next to the window. We decided to order some shared dishes to get a broader taste of the cuisine. The combo-appetizer plate ($13) popped out at us, for which we selected olives, sautéed mushrooms, and a feta dip with vegetables. We couldn't resist the spanakopita ($9), while the main sirloin kebab plate ($25) seemed a necessary addition.
While we waited, we enjoyed a glass of wine and the warmly lit atmosphereâa pair of chandeliers adding a nice touchâas well as the impressive height of the display behind the bar. We couldn't help but notice a TV flashing with a sporting event and commercials near the bar, and commented that a flamenco guitarist or local musician might have been a more tasteful choice for the ambiance.
The tapas were the first to arrive, and the food started to speak for itself. And while the effort in presentation was clear, the browning edges of the pre-cut vegetables, the out-of-a-box or jar quality of all but the mushrooms (I think) made my heart sink. Where was the made-from-scratch quality the prices demanded?
When the main arrived, it redeemed itself in flavor. Though the steak was tough, its taste along with the Spanish rice, brought me back to my séjours in Southern Europe,...
Read moreAll of our food was absolutely delicious. We started with the Trio (Hummus, Tzatziki and Whipped Feta). All of it was delicious and very flavorful like the flavors were on steroids here compared to others. Order an extra serving of bread as 1 is definitely not enough for the serving size of the dips. The Feta was our favorite as it was a bit sweet. I had the pear ravioli with falafel and he had the burger. The falafel was moist and had so much flavor. It was terrific with some of the Tzatziki on it. The ravioli was a bit small on portion size and sauce but tasted amazing. He says his burger was #1. He loved the bacon jam on it. The fries came out hot and perfectly crispy. We tried the caramel apple empanada for dessert and we're not disappointed. When we go out to eat, it is for a food experience such as this. I am a good cook but I can't make that great of a meal myself. Our server was on another level of happiness but a bit slow. I realized they were short staffed and we were enjoying our meal so it wasn't an issue for us. The first table behind the door is where we were sat. It's not a good table if you don't like the wind to be hitting your back every time the door is opened. I realize the restaurant is limited on configuration but a solid wall coming off the door to the hostess stand would eliminate the issue. Great selections for vegetarian diets. If we are ever out this way again, we would definitely come back...
