ALDI — Local services in Slidell

The prices are mostly comparable to other stores here, except for the "lost leaders" which were nice prices. The mangos I purchased have to ripen (expected this of any store); however, much of the other produce I bought was already turning. The 2lb. bag of carrots had "fuzzy" carrots in the middle of the bag. The 10-15 onions had some already blooming greens. The yellow squash packed in sets of three had one bad one in one pack and softening of another in a second pack. I had such high expectations as I have shopped in Aldi before elsewhere. The employees were exceptional. Kind and helpful are the words I would use to describe them. It was very crowded yet these workers remained calm and nice. I'll probably go back another time when the newness wears off and I have time to take a bit of time to not be rushed and moved along by the throngs of...

I drove from Covington to see how close it is to opening. Almost ready now. The opening day is 06-02-2022 Yea! I have really missed Aldi since moving here in 2017 and I am so pleased that one is opening within a reasonable distance from my home (20 miles). We'll be getting one in Covington someday soon. That's wishful thinking because they have been at it for over 5 months and no building has been started yet. The Covington location is also pretty awful to get in and out of even before the Aldi is built. Anyways terrible traffic in Covington seems to be built into the mix of living there. I hope you have a quarter with you, or you will be out of luck getting a shopping basket Aldi's doesn't have much to offer and 95% of product is white labeled to Aldi's brand. Very limited selection. The produce is bad I thought I grabbed good strawberries, but when I got home most of them was bad! Prices are average at best. While I was there at Aldi's they lost business because of the quarter locks on the carts, about six people never made it in side the store because they did not have the quarter! The store was very clean! I almost forgot bring bags with you if don't want to pay for them!!!! I will not be returning. I give them 6 months to one year...
