Wilson audio has been my goto location for my all my HIFI needs 2014. They have helped and continue to help me pick the right system for my audiohile wants. They helped me tune in my listening room, allowing me to get them most out of my system. My home theather system was purchsed through them. Again, any technical needs they were there to assist with the equipment they sold me. Their support and service is top notch! It's refreshing to have a local HIFI store with such a knowledgeable staff. I personally love great sound but don't have the time to research products for hours. I go see Doug or Jarrod, tell them what im looking for and my budget, and I walk out with a great sound or upgrade. We have never been disappointed with our purchases from them. If there was, they took the time to understand and make it right. This is the power of local small businesses; they care about their customers. Below is a story of my last major purchase, which I wish I would've bought from Wilson Audio. But in the end, Wilson Audio is getting my business.
I had been eyeing a Clearaudio Concept for years. I finally made the decision and purched a Clearaudio Concept from an online dealer. Turns out the unit had a defective motor but thankfully was under warranty. I wanted to ship it back to the dealer for them to make the repairs, but that wasn't an option, and I had to ship it to the importer. The importer would not take the unit with the tone arm. I wasn't comfortable with it, but I had to remove and figure out how to store the tonearm before shipping it. I was responsible for $300 in shipping to them, they paid the return. When I received the table back from the manufacturer, it was missing the armboard screw. I called them and they sent a replacement. Again, it's more time until I get my turntable going again. At this point, all the pieces are at Wilson Audio, so they'll get it going again. Not the online dealer! I should've bought a turntable for Wilson Audio. I dont think it would've been so costly and troublsome if there was a warranty repair. This is a lesson I will not forget, and I'm done with online sales for a major...
Read moreAs a professional live sound engineer, musician, and consumer, I must recommend you take your business elsewhere. I was given a very old, not working but high quality turntable from a family friend. Since I didn’t know the history of the turntable, I decided to take it to Wilson to see if it was worth repairing. After looking at it they said they could get it in playing condition even though the automatic function and start/stop switches were broken beyond repair. They even sold me a new cartridge under the pretense that my turntable would work. I didn’t think to have them fire it up before I left, so I paid them and took it home. I didn’t have a receiver at home yet and I was going out of town for a couple of months so I set it on the shelf while I was away. When I came back and tried to use it, no sound out of the turntable. I brought it back to the shop, they held it for another week and then called to tell me the tone arm was broken and would be too costly to fix. They said this was because it had been dropped on its head. They didn’t mention any trauma the first time I brought it in, and it certainly didn’t fall off my shelf. I hate to make accusations but Wilson must have missed something, because If the tonearm was broken, it was broken from the beginning, yet they still charged me almost $200 to repair it. Then they refused to refund my money, only offered to put the money I’d paid towards a new, more expensive table from their stock. The bottom line is, Wilson Audio either blatantly ripped me off or was too careless to inspect my equipment completely, costing me $200 and a lot of my time. I didn’t hear so much as an apology. These people do not deserve...
Read moreI truly enjoyed my experience at Wilson Audio from the very first phone call and I will definitely return again. They were extremely knowledgeable, clearly love what they do and went above and beyond to make sure that my record player functioned properly. I purchased my first record player last weekend from a garage sale and noticed when I got home that it was missing the belt. I did some research and was referred to Wilson Audio after speaking to several other local shops without much luck. Wilson had exactly what I needed and offered to install the belt at the shop so they could confirm it was the right size. I brought it in today and had the MOST pleasant experience. Jarrod remembered speaking to me on the phone, helped me carry my record player from my car and installed the belt without issue. After testing the player he noticed that is was spinning slowly and Doug (owner) was able to tweak the speed. Jarrod shared signs to look for to know when it is time to change my cartridge and a bit of history about Wilson Audio. I just got home and the record player works and sounds great. Do yourself the favor and support this gem of a...
