I happened to stop in Gifts & Thrifts (right by the water tower on Robert Blvd) because their cute sidewalk displays caught my eye - and I am SO glad I did! This thrift shop is absolutely wonderful….from the huge variety of unique items to the 2 fabulous ladies I met who run the show there, it was the most fun I’ve had shopping in as long as I can remember. I felt so welcomed from the moment I was greeted as I stepped in their door. There are so many cool things, with new inventory arriving daily I was told, that it took me quite awhile to make up my mind deciding what to buy (but hey, what else is new?! haha), so I finally settled on purchasing several really neat things to add to a Happy 21st Birthday basket I was putting together for my daughter, along with the prettiest vintage babydoll (in perfect condition) for my granddaughter. And I just had the very best time talking to and getting to know Frankie and V!! These gals are a total hoot and both are such kindhearted souls that I wished I could of shucked all of my other afternoon commitments that day to stay there at Gifts & Thrift chitchatting, listening to their funny stories, and looking at more of Frankie’s beautiful home pictures - for the rest of the day!! I will definitely be back again soon to shop - and to visit! I highly recommend this as a MUST stop and shop! - support this local business and tell your family & friends too! Thank You Frankie & V for an all-around lovely time….please forgive me for taking 2 weeks to write this! See you soon. xo Nicole 😊
Sidenote: After stopping in here for the first time, about a day or so later I was at the grocery store and it just so happened that Frankie was there too. She called out to get my attention and when I looked over and saw it was her, she just had the biggest, sweetest smile on her face (as if she was completely tickled to run into her new customer!) and then she gave me a hug!

Read moreWe love a good thrift store! From the moment my family and I walked into Gifts & Thrift, we were warmly welcomed by the shop owner, Dotty, and the other staff, Frankie and Vee! They immediately treated us like family, and we shared many great laughs and stories. The shop had many vintage items as well as new merchandise. They really have something for everyone! Dotty said that if there was something that we wanted to see in her shop, to just let her know, and she would make it happen. You just don't see customer service like this anymore! We can't wait to come back. You ladies definitely have lifelong customers in our family! My six year old is already ready to go back to see her new friends and to spend some more of...
Read moreMy husband and I were passing through Slidell Louisiana. We stopped for beignets next store to Gifts and Thrift. Vee was opening the store and invited us in. We went into see what treasures we might find. Not only did I find a previously loved necklace we also found our granddaughter a game. Vee gave us a 'lagniappe', meaning a little something extra. It was the first time we had heard of the Louisiana French word. 😲 The store owner Dotty came in soon after, wow she is a wealth of knowledge about the surroundings cities and freely shares if you have any questions. They're the friendliest ladies we've meet on our whole road trip. 💗
