MotoPhoto Bethesda — Local services in Somerset

We needed to renew our passports at our embassy in Washington DC. We first did pictures at CVS but they only do the US standard 2x2 inch and they looked like Lompoc mug shots for 30 bucks... The passport requirements from our country are specific in height and width and layout of the picture so the CVS pictures were useless and awful. So we looked for a professional photographer near our embassy and MotoPhoto is located around 15 minutes away. They were very helpful on the phone to give us a confirmation of what they are capable of. The shop is located conveniently in a small shopping mall, parking was available right in front of the shop. The shop itself is small and the pictures were done right away. The staff is super friendly and professional. I told him we don't want the classic mug shots and he actually took about 10 to 15 shots each until the photographer himself was satisfied. We then waited about 45 minutes next door in a small pizzeria until the pictures were ready. The pictures might have been ready earlier but the Pizza was good too 😁 Service and Quality of the pictures were absolutely great and the price for passport pictures for two persons was 63 bucks but it is in my opinion justified because i didn't wanted to look like a deathrow inmate the next 10 years every time i open my passport 😂 In 3 years we will do the pictures from my wife and in about 10 years we will be back for ours again 👍🏼 Good luck...

Tk and Eric are fast and really know passport photos. They were courteous and super pleasant and so gentle and patient with the kids and Baby. The price is worth the product you get. You really get what you pay for. They are highly recommended. TK is the manager and Eric is the assistant manager. They work well together and can process your pic in 15 mins. Went to get some more photos. Erick was great and super patient. As usual amazing passport photos and they got it done in 15 minutes. There are lots of little stores in this area that are good to wait for your photos and kids stores to eat too.

Very happy customer on my first visit to MotoPhoto. Over the years I've been using another photo lab in Bethesda, yet on this occasion I noticed some defects like horizontal bands of uniform color in areas of an image for example like the sky with less texture variation. Minor defects at first glance, I had to look at the print real close to notice, and which might have done the job just fine for casual presentation... but I had a customer who was paying hundreds of dollars for signed Limited Edition prints.

Needless to say I didn't want my customer to complain, so I reached out to MotoPhoto hoping they could deliver better print quality. That they did! For the last minute pressure of shipping these 2 images out, I was also delighted they could handle my order within 24 hours. Very friendly...
