Wish I could give better review as this family means well and most are very nice. Got my engagement ring diamond switched out for a different shape and tried to have a custom band made to fit to it (if was from an estate store so was old and unique). The woman who works there is kind of rude and acted very annoyed any time I had to speak with her, but the owner is super nice as was the daughter. They tried to be very receptive to what I wanted and described, but the work was very unorganized and not delicate. I had to go in so many times to try to meet with the jeweler, they made the wedding band not how I described the first time (which he kept just drawing it on a post it and I suggested we re-draw so he wouldn’t get confused and he said he’d remember and then he didn’t). He did try to remake it, and it yet again was very roughly shaped with not really what I asked for and didn’t sit very flush to my ring. I understood it wouldn’t be perfect but I’ve found other bands since then that sit much nicer next to my ring so I don’t think it’s my ring, I think it was just not a great understanding or skill/vision to execute.
Also I had gotten my engagement ring resized, as they told me to, before having them switch out the diamond and prongs, and then when my diamond was switched out, the size was wrong again when I got it back, so I had to take it back in again for them to resize again. EDIT: Annd now my diamond is wiggling a ton and very loose in the prongs… but I went in and they re-tightened it for me no problem. Again very nice mostly but the custom work...
Read moreThere's a women there with terrible fake eyebrows that seemed annoyed to help me. There was no system in place to check the authenticity of a diamond/gold earring I brought it. No diamond tester, no gold testing, no scale. All she did was hold it in her hand and said "no real gold". Like, what? This earring was found in home built in 1910s and jewelry then was way different from now. The fact her English was not very good was not helping out.
She may be the problem. The experts weren't around but this is detrimental long-term.
This type of attitude, work ethic, and respect is...
Read moreI've been holding off as to what was wrong with two watches I had. Getting a feeling it may be the batteries I googled for watch repair places close to Somerville. Wagner's came up right away... a day later I popped in on a Saturday afternoon, had no idea what to expect. The gentleman who was there was very nice and friendly. He took my watches on the spot and said maybe 10-15 minutes. Behold, within that time frame, he came back to the front, both batteries replaced and such a good rate $$$. So happy coming here, definitely...
