I went shopping here in the evening with my son, who had his T-Rex dinosaur toy with him. At some point he must have set it down, and when we were leaving he realized it was missing. I immediately reported it to the manager on duty, gave a full description, and left my phone number.
The response was unprofessional from the start. The managerâs attitude was dismissive, and I never received any follow-up. When I called the next day, staff had no record or recollection of my report. That tells me nothing was written down or taken seriously.
Good customer service is more than ringing up a sale â itâs about showing care, being attentive, and respecting customers when issues arise. A simple note in the logbook and a quick check-in call would have made a world of difference. Instead, I was met with indifference.
This experience makes it clear how little this store values its customers. If something as small as documenting a missing item is neglected, it raises questions about how they handle bigger issues. Management needs to hold staff accountable and raise the...
Read moreI am so frustrated about the cashier asking to donate or round up the bill. I just want the public to know they are doing this for profits not for charity, but adding the pressure on consumers by keeping asking every single time!!!
Why Marshallâs Ask to Round Up/ Donations Corporate Charity Partnerships ⢠Many big chains (Marshallâs, CVS, grocery stores, etc.) partner with national charities. ⢠Instead of giving from their profits, they ask customers to donate at checkout. Psychology of Small Numbers ⢠âRound up to the nearest dollarâ feels painlessâjust a few cents. ⢠But multiplied across millions of customers, it adds up to large donations. Public Relations & Tax Benefits ⢠The company collects all donations, then gives them under its name. ⢠That means the corporation, not you, claims the tax deduction. ⢠They get goodwill (âwe donated $X million to charityâ), but customers were the ones funding it.
Bottom Line
Enough customers agree to âround upâ or â Donationâ that it becomes a profitable...
Read moreI was here past closing. How weird does it feel to close a store. I think they have their HVAC systems shut down even before then. The air gets so stale and heavy. Or was I just having a panic attack. Its like a Goodwill on steroids but the items are not pre-owned, just loser reject items some failing Macy's couldnt sell. So I found a pair of Rocaway snookers or sneashoes or whatever, but I liked them and convinced myself they fit, but changed my mind about them at the register. This dismayed the nice store clerk who earlier tried to help me find the left shoe but couldnt, and who now was behind the cash register. Not even sure what I ended up buying but it cost $40, which dismayed me as I left the store, mopping up a thin film of sweat from my forehead. Nice to get...
