I'm visiting the folks from out of state, so we decided to try this place since we used to come here when it was the chicken coop and it's been all over insta. The vibe was pretty cool, but we stood around for minutes without anyone seating us, didn't see an employee to ask, so we seated ourselves thinking it might be a seat yourself spot. A few more minutes pass and the waitress finally comes around and the first thing she tells us is that we can't sit where we're sitting and we have to move, dripping with attitude. We apologize, probably our bad for assuming, even though there were no signs to indicate to wait and we did see many other parties seat themselves. My mom asked what the reason was for and the waitress with a super disrespectful tone tells us they want to save it for a bigger party. Which again, fair, it was a somewhat large table, although definitely not the only large table.
Few minutes pass and this waitress takes our order, kind of huffing and standing around impatiently waiting for us to finish, it was literally only 3 of us and my parents shared a plate. At that point we had considered leaving, but we were already there and we just wanted to try the food. That was when the giant party of rowdy kids came in and not only did they seat them right next to us, despite there being at least one other spot she could've put them, they physically had to bring more tables into that small area to fit them all. It was hard not to take that personally considering how recently we'd just been scolded.
The food came and we tried to make the best of it. It was good, maybe not worth the price, and definitely difficult to enjoy with a kid barking inches from my ear. Part of my dish came with toast, by which I mean toasted/partially burned bread with nothing. My plate didn't come with yolky eggs or any kind of sauce, so like an idiot, I very politely asked the waitress if they had butter or jam. I would've literally taken anything to make that dry bread not taste like nothing. The contemptable look she gave me, like I was just the biggest a.hole for asking, with her only response being "We.Dont.Have.Jam." To her credit, it was many minutes later, but she did angrily drop a small bowl of ice cold butter that was clearly cooking butter. Although at that point, we were just kind of over it.
The food was good, although we had a few issues, none of them were big enough to complain about beyond just laughing it off. The real problem was the waitress's attitude. We tried to stay polite, plenty of please and thank yous and she just would not let up. It made the tiny things feel much worse then they were. I'm sorry if you were having a bad day Señora, or we were just a.holes for seating ourselves, but your bad attitude ruined the entire experience. Not that it matters, because who are we, but we won't...
Read moreWe came here for lunch based on the hype from social media. We thought this place would be fantastic from the food to the staff. We were WRONG! We ordered 3 drinks (strawberry lemonade, coffee & coke) for food we decided to share a molcajete. We were super excited! The food took over 40min once I asked the staff member if it was almost ready if not we could just pay for drinks and go she said let me check. She then came back and said that they were making it. I had seen in the kitchen the chefs were just chit chatting drinking beers none of my business however we realized they forgot our food. Immediately after they started cooking we smelled burnt tortilla coming from the kitchen we thought nothing of it until they brought out our plate.....
DISSATISFACTION, DISAPPOINTMENT and DISGUST is what we experienced at this restaurant. The molcajete was BURNT!! From the chilaquiles, nopales to the ham. Everything was BURNT! We tried to eat what we could but it was all burnt! I asked the waitress for the check and to speak to a manager. Keep in mind I was polite the whole time despite the dissatisfaction. There was a lady on the table counting money which I'm 1,000 percent sure she was the manger but she didn't want to bother talking to us and sent us the waitress. The waitress said she was the manager and said "Oh I already gave you a discount on the drinks took them off because when I brought you the order I saw the molcajete was burnt.."
If you saw the food item was burnt why did you not return it to the kitchen?!
I was a paying customer I expected her to discount a larger portion than just my 3 drinks!! We paid $75!!!!! Oh but she discounted the drinks..... $75 for a molcajete we didn't even eat because it was BURNT!
Not even an apology! We will definitely not be coming back here & I do not recommend it! Save your money and go support another...
Read moreI've seen people on social media posting this a huevo restaurant a lot. My best friend and I went to celebrate her b-day, we waited over an hour to get a table, they offered us a small table for 2, which obviously if u go to a restaurant u want to have space to be able to eat comfortable we requested to get a bigger table the guy said it would be 45 more min to get a bigger table... unbelievable :( They offered us a table on the side of the restaurant, the sun was hitting hard, the table was damage due to the rain with white spots due not even a table cloth to cover on the table and he wanted us to sit there. we requested an inside table they said those tables were not available.. it was not nice it was a bad experience, to be honest.. The price of all the dishes are expensive. Can the owner afford to buy bigger tables? Rwally.... It was not appealing don't get me wrong the caramel coffee late was delishious I can honestly say that is the only thing I liked about my meal my chilaquiles did not have any flavor I had to ask for some hot sauce the habanero gave it a bit of flavor I would say I would rate them as 4.5 just because I was hungry and the coffe was good. Jasmine, our server, was amazing. She truly made this experience a bit better. Because waiting for almost 2 hrs. It is not a good thing to do.. i would not recommend this place unless ur not thay hungry. There is a lot of favoritism from the inside tables to the outside. It's...
