I just moved to South Elgin, IL, from Virginia. When I visited about a month ago for the first time, I was quite excited seeing the 'Coffee Haus' sign as I was driving around in the new area. You'd assume that the place will serve a decent coffee, esp. Based on the reviews (which before when I visited were 4.5) and the name of the place. What a disappointment!

I am a big coffee enthusiast, but I am quite forgiving to the new places until I find the place to my liking. Unfortunately, I cannot give even 2 stars for this place.

Back to the point: I ordered 3 coffees - 2 cappuccinos with almond milk and 1 mocha.

  1. When ordering, I asked if one of the cappuchinos could be made dry. The young man looked at me with fear, shook his head with disapproval, and not answering backed up. That was okay, I understand it takes a skill to not burn the milk...
  2. It took 25 minutes to make 3 coffees. We were quite in a rush that day.
  3. The 'barista' who was making the coffee, made the huge steam cloud, and I almost recorded curious what was going on. Shortly after, we received the coffee, and I missed the chance to record the show.

The coffees we received were burning hot. Thr barista clearly did not know how to steam the milk. There was barely any coffee in our coffees - tasted like watered down milk. I swear, it was the worst coffee I've ever had.

Anyways, please see the attached pictures/videos for reference. I still would love to get a refund, which I could not request because I was in a rush. If u seek any espresso-based drinks, STAY AWAY from this place.

They should rename the place to attract people seeking a bubble tea, the place is cute inside. But it's not a coffee shop. You could also hire someone who can operate the coffee machine and serve a good coffee.

PS. Normally, I don't waste produce, but this coffee was not drinkable. Went...

Coming from an ex-employee at a different boba location/franchise & working in customer service for many years, I was appalled at the service from the girl at the front register. She was condescending, rude and was not willing to assist with a bubble tea that was made incorrectly. She gave us wrong information on the items that were on the menu as well, that made little to no sense. After much back and forth, she told us we had to pay for the bubble tea to be re-done due to wasted product. We will be disputing with our bank, and unfortunately not returning to this store. Such a huge disappointment. (Edit:In regards to my last review, my husband went in twice with the original drink that was made incorrectly because Jennifer at the front was not explaining things thoroughly as to why the tea could not be fixed. No drink was re-made three times, only once and that was when we were charged for it regardless. I’m sure you have video footage to help with said claim. Anyhow, I will not continue with this going back and forth, a dispute will be made with our bank because we did not receive the item we wanted originally/services was not rendered to what we paid for. Enjoy the rest of...

I came in and ordered a strawberry bing soo and a milk tea. The milk tea was great, the bing soo was honestly horrific. The second my sister laid eyes on it, she immediately recoiled as she looked at the mess presented to us. It was full to the brim with sweet garbage (literally every topping was shoved in there). She took one sip then handed it to me. I chugged through it, but I gave up and tossed half of it away as I waited in line for Panera. I think this drink tried to gaslight me into liking red beans because whenever I got a red bean, it was covered in fruity pebbles (which they added in despite me not asking at all??). The beans were also so dry I started coughing as soon as I left. Anyways, the place looked nice and the staff was super sweet!! Milk tea is good. Will come back to try something else, but don't ever order the bing soo unless you want diabetes!!!

UPDATE!!!! We came again and got something they actually specialize in and it was very good! My sister doesn't like boba but she loved the vanilla one with brown sugar tapioca. The thai tea is...

There are a lot of options on this menu which is great. Also there are open late which is nice because most coffee shops are not! There are a lot of seating options so you can stay to work! The three star rating is mainly based on the condition of the bathrooms. They were very unclean and I had to put my shirt over my nose because of the smell. I can’t enjoy food or drink at a place that is dirty, no matter how it tastes. Also some of the fabric benches were stained.
