Butcher Boys Beef Outlet — Local services in South Hill

My grandma and I purchased a whole beef from a family friend. He used Butcher Boys to cut and wrap the meat. When we went in to fill out the cut sheet, the man we spoke to incredibly rude. He refused to do certain cuts for my grandma (rib steaks vs rib roast, for example), he wouldn't listen to how we wanted the order split, and he treated me like an annoyance when I said I wanted to keep the liver and heart, as well as all the bones to make beef stock.

When we picked up the order, the organs were missing and there were hardly any bones (last year I was able to fill an entire shelf of my freezer with bones from a cow raised by the same friend). I asked about the organs and they said I could come back in a couple days to pick them up. When I called a couple days later to make sure they were ready before I drove there, nobody seemed to have any idea what I was talking about. They said they would find my order and call me the next day... they never did.

I'm really disappointed that a company that has 50 years experience had such awful customer service and professionalism. I hope to never have to deal...

We called this store to see if they could cut and wrap a deer that we had harvested. The person on the phone said they could if we arrived prior to 2pm the following day. We left our cabin in the dark in order to make it there on time. We arrived at 12:30. The lady said that they were full and would not butcher our deer. She had no idea who we talked to, and was not at all helpful. From their parking lot, after numerous calls we were able to find another meat market who would do the job. I have done business with The Butcher Boys for many years, purchasing numerous freezer packs in addition to the game I have had processed there. Apparently these folks don’t feel repeat customers are valued, and are too busy to care! I’ll be taking my business to my newly found butcher from this point forward. Butcher Boys is lacking in honesty...

This butcher has good meat at reasonable prices. The employees, however, are rude and lack customer service skills. I went inside, grabbed my stuff from the freezer, and waited patiently as the current customer was paying at the register... then I put my items on the counter. The clerk looked at me, went to the scale to do something, looked at me again as she walked to the meat counter and served another customer. When she came to the register to cash out the other customer, I told her I was there first. She told me to stand aside and she'd get me next. I said forget it, left my items on the counter, and walked out. The clerk is an older woman with white hair worn in pony tails and a heavier but not fat build.
