Sunrise Village is a very welcome shopping experience in the South South Hill area. A lot of us locals now refer to this general area as "Sunrise" instead of South Hill. Situated between Graham and South Hill, I really think the future will mean this area has its own identity. And Sunrise Village is the community anchor. Due to some not very forward thinking by planners, this area lacks public space such as parks and trails. And while this is no replacement for that, having a shopping and community gathering area such as Sunrise Village is a good option.
Plenty of food choices, some good shopping choices and certainly these will expand as the community continues to grow. And the events that the business leaders coordinate whether it's farmers, markets and entertainment in the summer or Halloween and Christmas activities in the fall, it really is the center of this...

Read moreI am so thankful this shopping plaza was built. Easy to forget all the restaurants available here, but I need to try them all. It's like an open mall with big box stores on the side. I go to LA Fitness, and I like the way I can also get a bite after nearby, and go to Target before. And all-in-one shopping experience. Also attended a holiday event here years ago, which was very special. My granddaughter met Elsa from Frozen and was in magical awe.
Update: During today's visit to this evolving plaza, I visited 3 businesses: the party store, the gym and the dentist. I took the Eastern route to the gym and was delighted to see a large area of an unused part of their massive parking lot being used by a local fire department for drills. Looks like Mod Pizza has been remodeled and is open...
