A Hidden Gem in Puyallup: Meridian Habitat Park and Community Center
We recently stumbled upon Meridian Habitat Park and Community Center in Puyallup, Washington, and it quickly became our new favorite park. Despite living in the area for six years and frequently passing by, we had no idea just how much this park had to offer until we decided to explore it.
From the street, the park seems unassuming, but once you drive in, you’re greeted with a wealth of amenities and activities. The community center is a hub for various events and activities, providing a versatile space for gatherings and community events.
One of the highlights of Meridian Habitat Park is its fantastic children’s play area, which includes a variety of games and equipment designed for younger and older children, including those with disabilities. The park features a large, accessible swing for children who might not be able to use a traditional swing, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the play area. 🛝

Read moreThis place is good for events, we had an event on 8/16/25 it was a big one. We rented this place including the kitchen, we got there wanted to use the oven it’s not working. We asked the workers they said they don’t know how to turn it on. The place was really hot I mean hot they didn’t turn the air condition up. The worker that was there to open the place informed us that not to worry about the trash they will take them out but the workers later that evening told us that we have to remove our trash so we did. I ended up sending my son to get more big trash bags because the workers didn’t want to give us any. We should have been informed to get our own trash bags and take our own trash before we paid for the place. The workers should have good communications because some say this and some say that. There is also should be a big sign outside to where people can smoke, also big sign inside to take the drinks out. The workers that night kept on bugging us and we did not enjoy but to be securities to watch people that goes in and out. There was a deposit of $400 and I only got $125 back, we should have just leave the trash for the workers to take. Yes there was 1 broken chair and I know that chair don’t cost over $100. Just an advice please, Communicate with the workers and inform them of the right thing to...
Read moreWas our first time stopping by the park and we were there about 90 minutes. The playground has options for littles and kids up to 12 on the climbing structure. Be mindful of your little ones changing areas at the wood chip area is lower than the Sidewalk and I saw a couple of kids take some spills navigating the different heights. We took my 5 year olds bike but were disappointed in the amount of trails. It's a large park but there wasn't really places to ride too and there are signs letting you know stinging nettle is present. We're outdoor savvy so we're used to that. The pathway loops are very hard compacted, wide, and easy to navigate on a bike or with a stroller. There is an asphalt loop around the sport field that is 6 laps to a mile. The far side of the loop is the dog park which was large and busy. We walked our own path around the pond. Developing this area into some criss crossing trails would help it's appeal. My son liked his time there but honestly I like the South Hill Park with Nathan Chapman trail much better. Park is clean well maintained and thankfully the playground is well away from...
