In early May 2025, it was recommended that we reach out to Erica Lepore, ND, to get a handle on our food situation with her 21-Day Detox Plan. Even though I didn't think we were eating unhealthy food (e.g., burritos, tacos, chicken parm, eggplant parm, pizza, and the occasional salad), I was definitely overweight and feeling bloated most of the time. The day we first met with Erica, I had weighed myself at 206. In the back of my mind, I decided that I would love to get down to 180, but I really wanted to just feel healthier. Erica not only understood how to get us healthier, but she was well-versed with the health conditions that we shared with her. (I have Parkinson's.) After meeting with Erica, who gave us the game plan for scheduling our food intake and detox supplements, we went to the store and picked up an array of fresh and whole foods. The main criteria for the packaged products were gluten-free, corn-free, dairy-free, and no chemicals. (In fact, she said at one point, 'rather than counting calories, count chemicals.') The first several days of the detox were tough. We were drinking, probably, on average, 100 ounces of water per day, which may not be much for some, but it was much for me. We took to the food right away. So simple, so soothing, so fresh, and so flavorful in its own right. That feeling of being bloated and overfull started dissipating by the end of the first week; in turn, I was feeling more energetic. Funny enough, we went to a yoga class that first week, and the teacher took us into floor work, which for me isolated some of my main pain points: i.e., hips and knees. When the class was over, I was telling the yoga teacher that we were currently doing Erica's detox plan, and she said that she was too. (Rhode Island is a small state, but... right?!) So that second week was the tough one for me. For reasons that Erica can explain, I was experiencing sharp, persistent pains in my hips, knees, and ankles. When I explained it to Erica on our weekly phone call, she demonstrated proper concern but pointed out that this could be "a healing crisis," where the body is working something out, so try to stay with it. After several days of limping around, the pain slowly, but surely, started to dissipate. I was shedding weight too; I was down probably ten pounds after two weeks. Feeling increasingly better and energized, and enjoying so much the process of making our own meals, by the end of three weeks, I not only felt a hundred percent better, but I felt like a new paradigm was established that I have no interest in deviating from. The added value of Erica's 21-day detox is that as we were phasing out the detox supplements, we were phasing in different foods that we had taken a break from to see what, if anything, we might have allergies to. For me, it is gluten, for sure. I just feel better when I'm not eating it. As Erica explained, the real benefit of the detox is the desensitization that allows us to isolate the allergens. I don't have to stay away from everything that I used to eat, but I know I no longer want to eat foods that make me feel uncomfortable, unhealthy, and unwell. Even the good foods, I don't want to overeat., and, for that reason, without really trying to lose weight, I reached my goal weight of 180 yesterday. I'm down twenty-six pounds in less than five months but with a way of keeping it sustainable and enjoyable. In addition to eating healthier, by following Erica's suggestions, I'm living healthier as well with the use of eco-friendly cleaning products and consumer-safe cookware. I'm also sleeping better and getting more done without the drag of slogging my once-bloated self around. I can't thank her enough, but I can let you folks know that Erica Lepore, ND, is the real deal. She guided us out of a real pickle of unhealthy eating into a more sustainable way of enjoying food and healthier living. Invest in your health! You're worth it! (PS: The photos are foods we now make ourselves on a regular basis.)

In January 2020 I signed up for and successfully completed Erica's in person 21 day detox program. It was nothing short of fabulous for me, just what I needed. At 54 years old I had tried many diets in my life, but this was different, it was really a life style change and a relatively easy one at that. This was not a "diet" but a real education. I learned so much and felt supported throughout the program and ended it with an incredible arsenal of tips and tricks to maintain this new way of living. Erica is more than generous with her time, much more so than an Dr. I have ever visited. She was committed to doing whatever she could to help all of those in the class have a positive experience. Did I mention how great I felt after the 21 days! The program made such a difference for me that I completed it again in 2021 Zoom style and loved the refresher course. I have referred many friends to Erica and they too have raved about...

My wife suggested I try Dr. Erica LePore’s program after a year of stomach issues and fatigue. At 51 years of age I have worked out my entire life, and have experienced minimal health issues over that time. After a year of being in and out of doctors offices, and a few hospital visits, I jumped on the opportunity to work with Dr. LePore. I can’t say enough about my experience, and the positive outcome I received participating in the 21 day detox program. Dr. LePore was available the entire time to help each of us in the detox achieve our health goals. My bloating and fatigue are gone, and I feel like my old self again. Dr. LePore really cares, and provided all the help and support needed to be successful in completing the detox to achieve better health. I highly recommend Dr. LePore and her caring knowledge to anyone. Thank you so much for...
