A must for anyone remotely interested in WW2. It has just about every authentic uniform on display used by Americans, British, Russian, Japanese and German. The same goes for light weapons. A mini library is packed with every WW2 book imaginable. There are also some extremely rare items which are labeled in red, you will have discovered that for yourself. Everything is scattered within designated theaters of war. If you plan to look at everything in detail including reading letters and scrapbooks, expect 2-3 hours. If you are just browsing, perhaps 45mins - 1 hour.

INCREDIBLE hidden gem we found when we just happened to be near Wakefield! Don’t be fooled by the small space, this museum is jam packed with one of a kind or otherwise extremely rare artifacts. We did a guided tour with Ken who was just so knowledgeable and showed us many highlights in a sea of fascinating history. My favorite was a captured German pistol his own father brought back from his service in Europe in WW2. We spent about an hour and fifteen minutes there, but you could easily spent double that exploring all the pieces there. Can’t recommend enough!!

This is a truly impressive hidden gem. If you have any interest in WWII history, or think you might, check it out. Ideally, if they aren't too busy, hopefully you can get a guided tour, which makes it 20x better. Fascinating collection. In a traditional museum this would cover 20000 sf, but here, it is artfully crammed into a much smaller space.

I should have written this review 2 ½ years ago. Pre-pandemic, I was looking for an organization that would accept father’s WWII Navy gear as a donation. I read in RI Magazine about the WWII Foundation, gave them a call and they readily accepted. Myself, my 12 year old neighbor, and WWII Veteran, dropped the gear off, and they gave us a tour. We were all totally impressed. The quantity and quality of the artifacts they have are very impressive, our guide was very informative. In March of this year, I found another item, and took a friend with me to drop it off. Had another tour with John and Thom, we were both very impressed with their knowledge, they both took their time and answered any questions we had, and they also mentioned that they were expanding the museum. Again we were both very impressed. Also, they had my fathers sea bag, and my uncles army boots on display. This is a must go to place, you will never forget or regret going. I suggest that anyone from the area, or visiting should definitely take a tour. My one complaint is that I can only give it a 5 star review, should be “50” stars!

Will...

What an incredible experience going to the museum. So much to see...it doesn't look very big from outside, but once you get inside wow! There's just so much to see! It's literally from floor to ceiling. If you really want to learn a lot take a guided tour. Our guide Thomas was so knowledgeable, and friendly and just plain passionate about all things WW2. All the staff there truly cares about making sure you get the most of your time there. I can't say enough good things about our trip there. It's exciting, it's educational, and some parts are somber and powerful. I'd definitely go again because I'm sure there's some things I missed. I highly...

I found this museum because a family member from overseas asked to visit a World War II museum, and we were very happy to have found it! Our docent, Thomas, was not only friendly and offered us a tour of the well-organized collection, but was full of balanced information and perspectives about different aspects of the war, and eagerly answered all of our questions. We could not have asked for a more prepared docent, or a more interesting collection—there is plenty to occupy the studious visitor for days if not weeks. Thank you to the Foundation and volunteers for making the exhibition available...
