This is a review of my experience with Magic Carpet from 7/28/16 through 8/1/2016. I first contacted Magic Carpet for a small flood that happened in my apartment building. They were fast and showed up at my door within the hour. The two gentlemen that helped with the clean up were kind and courteous given the stressful situation. I was very thankful for their professionalism. The part of my experience with Magic Carpet that I have an issue with is their ethics in billing. Insurance companies and policy holders BEWARE. I was immediately asked if my insurance policy would cover the cost of their service. I wasn't 100% sure so I told them I didn't know but I would pay them with cash until I knew. Not only did they ask me this once or twice but they asked me numerous times if insurance was paying. At first I didn't think any thing of it until one of the employees was wanting to do more service if insurance was paying. I was also told during the service that I would only be charged for the equipment rental and the initial service of removing the water. I was totally fine with that. One of the employees suggested that he take out the carpet so he could take it to his shop to dry it faster. Before I agreed to this I asked if it was going to cost any more. He told me that he would not charge me for taking the carpet out and drying it. I agreed to him removing it as it did dry the carpet faster. He also told me that he spoke to his boss and that he would not charge me for the equipment rental for Sunday. I was very thankful for that as I was already nervous about the bill. So lets talk about the bill. On the final day when the employee came to pick up the equipment I was ready to pay the bill in full then. He told me he needed to turn in all of the paper work to the administrator and that I would receive a bill by mail. He told me that since I had already put down a deposit he didn't expect the bill to be more than 1000.00$ total including my 500.00$ deposit. I was fine with that amount because it was around what we agreed upon. I received the bill by email on 8/9/16. I was shocked when I opened it up to find a grand total of 1570.20$. As I reviewed the bill I found that I was charged for things like " Content Manipulation, carpet detach and relay, and haul debris" I had no idea what content manipulation meant and as far as the carpet detach the employee told me it would be "no cost to remove the carpet". And as far as the relay THEY DIDNT EVEN DO THE WORK. My apartment complex completed the work. And as far as hauling the debris they used the dumpster not even 100ft away from my door at my apartment complex! They also charged me for Sunday which the employee told me I would not be charged for. I called the administrator and asked her why the bill was so much. I let her know that much of the items on the list were either not agreed upon or I was told I wouldnt be charged for it. I also let her know that this was coming straight out of my pocket and not from insurance. She said "oh well that makes a difference" " when insurance covers the service we put a lot of items on there we wouldn't usually charge , like cleaning a light switch" WHAT??? WOW!!!! No wonder our insurance companies let people go. It is companies like this that abuse coverage. She adjusted my bill to remove the ridiculous charges and it was still over 1000.00$ that I owed. I let her know that at the time of the equipment pickup the employee told me it wouldn't be any more over 1000.00 total including my deposit. I was still looking at a bill that was 1500.00. I emailed her and politely let her know that I was still not comfortable paying for parts of the service that were not agreed upon or simply not even communicated to me. She replied with a very snarky email telling me that I was "confused". Very rude service and there isn't much communication from the employees doing the service to the person who writes up the bill. I do not write reviews but I felt like potential customers need to know how this place does...
Read moreI can’t thank everyone from Magic Carpet Cleaning enough! This past winter, I had the unfortunate luck to have extensive damage to my home from a burst pipe and furnace puffback. Sue and Joe were amazing. They advocated and fought hard to get me everything I was entitled to covered through my insurance. Many things, I didn’t even reaize would be covered, saving me thousands of dollars in the process. They were fast, responsive, and coordinated the many subcontractors needed to get the job done. I was out of my home for 6 weeks, and they took so much of the stress from such a challenging situation away. The work that was done to my home was top notch. From carpet/ tile cleaning, to the replacement of walls, electrical work, plumbing, painting and more. The end result was amazing. Thank you.Magic Carpet cleaning and crew! We are so thankful for all of your hard work to get us back into our home as quickly as you could given the amount of work that needed to be done. Your company...
Read moreMy husband and I let out silver labs dogs out on 8/8/24 around 2:30 am to go the bathroom. Next thing we know, they both came in vomiting and foaming at the mouth. Little did I realize, they both got sprayed by a skunk. We have done several baths and we even bought an ozone machine. Sure it helps but they rubbed their bodies all over the couch, blankets, rugs and dog beds. The couch is the WORST. We have tried everything. As soon as you sit on the couch especially on a muggy day, it comes right back to you! Finally after 3 weeks, I called Magic Carpet Cleaning & Restoration and they made an exceptional appointment to come up and clean our couch on a Saturday because it was wicked bad. Joe did a very hands on and in depth cleaning job and even educated us on the cleaning procedure! Thanks again Joe! I would definitely recommend Magic Carpet again...
