This was my second time here for dinner but with my husband. A woman was walking out of the door and stated, “The food is delicious!” And I said, “Yes, I know that is why I am here a second time.” The first time was awesome, friendly is not even the word, from the start we had a very concerned waitstaff person find my mom and I seating right away on a crowded weekend evening in the summer. Our waitress was very nice, informative and helpful. We got everything on time. The make over of the restaurant was impressive and very clean and spacious. The rum drink I ordered was delicious and huge for $8.00. We both ordered seafood, which came with two sides. I had the fried scallops and they were the best most succulent scallops that I have ever eaten, large, plentiful, and very fresh, fried to a perfection with fresh lemon wedges. The fries were real cut potatoes, long and perfectly fried to a golden crisp and hot. My salad, Caesar was so fresh, crisp lettuce, fresh cut thin Parmesan and crunchy croutons. The dressing was the clear version of Caesar which is the correct kind and was perfect. My mom had the fried whole belly clams and they were scrumptious and freshly fried. My mom’s baked potato was steaming hot, huge, and fresh, and her salad, the same as mine was delicious. Our water glasses were constantly refilled and we had plenty of ice and fresh lemon. The music from the bar was mostly 70’s and was fun and everyone was singing and having a great time. Tonight was equally the same. I ordered the black, angus strip steak, medium rare, and done to a grilled hot perfection, perfect baked potato, and the Cesar salad was fresh and crisp. I ordered an ice tea with lots of ice, and lemon and lime. I got a little side plate of fresh cut limes and lemon slices, refills, and even one packed up to go with us. My husband had the hamburger which was plentiful in size, on a fresh roll, with the perfect French fries. We started the meal with a shared French onion soup that was hot and delicious with plenty of fresh melted cheese over crusty French bread, that came with four slices of French bread and butter. I make the real French onion soup that takes half a day at home and this was a close second. The waitress was wonderful and helpful. The manager gave us a visit as at the first visit he did the same. No rush job and you can really relax, and enjoy. The music was fun and everyone was having a good time. All the food the waitstaff carried by us looked amazing. This restaurant I hope will be here to stay for a long long time. Great location. We unfortunately passed on the raspberry cheesecake and regretted it as we drove home. A+++ on everything and we WILL be back and will pass the suggestion on to family, co-workers, and friends. Very Affordable pricing for today’s market. Great parking and lots of handicapped parking spots for those who need it. Plenty of appetizers on the menu, a happy hour, and a huge sandwich selection. A great place with friends, office staff, or a night out with a loved one. Outdoor seating, spacious bar with table seating, and lunch. Lots of attention to detail here. I am a perfectionist when eating out as I am a gourmet cook, and did lots of restaurant reviews in my former media career for WBACH radio, dubbed ‘Queen of...
Read moreOnce upon a time a friend and I went to a new restaurant called Copper Smith. I have a close friend that works there and he encouraged me to try it out. Even though he wasn’t working my friend and I still decided to go anyway. From the moment we walked in we knew immediately that we should turn around. First off the scenery was not towards our generation. I would say it was more for people in late 20s early 30s who like to drink. Then we had the ruddiest waiter I’ve ever encounter. She never asked how are day was, she didn’t introduce herself, she didn’t even smile. She gave us the menu and walked away. She came back took our orders and never checked on us again. Instead she stayed in the corner making out with her boyfriend. As for the food the first thing that came out of was our appetizer which was mozzarella sticks. They turned out to be pretty good not the best I’ve had but still good. Then our meal came. My friend got a Caesar salad which was ok but I got the clam chowder. The moment she put that in front of my face I almost wanted to gag it smelled absolutely awful. I took a small bite and almost threw up. I got it too go instead and brought it over to my work at the Merry Manor. I had 8 other people smell and tried the chowder which everyone said that it tasted sour and disgusting. I ended up calling the restaurant and speaking with a manger who said he’ll get back to me but never did. I asked my friend the next day what was wrong with the chowder and he did tell me that the chowder had gone bad. The fact that that never called me back I was very upset and the fact that they didn’t check me food before delivering it to the paying customer made me livid. I will never go back again nor will I send anyone else...
Read moreNever again! Ever since this place was sold it's gone way downhill. Our last visit was horrible which is why we're never going back. Let's begin. Don't order alcohol drinks. I always drink Tito's and soda. You get 1 shot of alcohol in your drink and they charge you $12!!! I ordered mozzarella sticks. Got 6 sticks that looked like they came from Sysco and they charged $11 for them. They were way over cooked, burned and tasted like the frying oil hasn't been replaced in a very long time. Pay very close attention to the prices on the menu and what you actually pay. I'd highly recommend taking a picture of the menu items you order and then ask for a detailed receipt. Our bill was much higher because the prices on the menu are wrong. Of the 4 food items we ordered, only 1 on our bill was the price reflected on the menu. Ordered a cup of lobster stew...menu said $10, charged us $14. Menu says you can order 8 or 12 wings...we ordered 8, got 8 but charged for 12. I ordered a steak and cheese. Menu says it's $18.50...which is too high already...they charged $21.50. Who in the right mind would pay that kind of money for a steak sub. Steak that again looked like it was frozen from Sysco and tasted freezer burned. I reached out to the owner, and here is what he said:
Thank you for your message. Our apologies on the price discrepancy. We switched our computer POS system and are still working through the changes, including the pricing settings that it came with. It was never our intention to be deceptive to our customers. We hope you’ll join us again and know we value our patrons greatly.
Sincerely, Coppersmith Tavern
This is unacceptable. If you feel like getting grose way overpriced food then that's...
