No one actually WORKS here.
I wandered the "Ladies" store (there are TWO 'Belk' stores at this location, but no one bothers to tell you that) for about 15 minutes looking for the children's section, and once I FINALLY caught a clerk at a register (there are many registers, but the vast majority are unattended) I was told that the children's section was in the "other store" a "few doors down". Apparently a "few doors down" is equivalent to a football field or two as this "other store" is on the other side of the parking lot (look on Google Maps for the big building that refuses to have a name associated with it). A brisk 5 minute walk later I made it to the other store and managed to find what I required. Unfortunately it became extremely difficult to leave as NONE of the registers were manned at THIS location either. Three laps of the store later I caught an employee near the back of the store and asked where I could go to check out, and he said, "I'll send you to the middle to see Miss Jessie"... And so he did. "Miss Jessie" must have been otherwise engaged, as she was at none of the registers that I passed. Not in the middle of the store, the front, or in the back (where I returned after making yet another lap). After at least another ten minute search (which felt like much longer) I finally found the enigmatic "Miss Jessie" checking out another lost soul and managed to give her money for the goods I required... All that was left after that was the long LOOOONG walk back to where I had made the mistake of parking, the "other store".
All in all I needed new undies for my 5 year old while visiting the grandparents, and what should have been a quick errand became a comical ordeal because of the poor staffing and lack of management at these (two) Belk locations, I will not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNormally LOVE this store. However, today we asked a sale associate to hold a few items for us while we continued to shop. When we went back to make our final purchase, it had turned out the associate didn't hold them. They all got put back on the racks. We ended up having to dig through the store AGAIN to find the items, and actually missed one of them š so we didn't get all the things we originally went in to purchase. Did she have a brain tumor for breakfast? Don't tell us you're going to hold something and then not do it. She didn't even get a name, which we found out afterwards was something she was supposed to ask for. Why did she lie to us? Why did she put ALL of our items back? We spent hours in the store today, and have made some pretty big purchases at Belk. Definitely won't be returning to this Belk, since the associates literally cannot do the BARE MINIMUM of their job requirements. This needs to be addressed, it's very incompetent work for that associate. I wish I could provide better detail of who this associate was, but the other lady working at the same register should know who I'm talking about so just ask around and I'm sure you'll figure it out. I'll bet this isn't the first mistake she's made, get it together or get a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm specifically reviewing the watch/jewelry center where they remove links for you. I had a horrible experience here. I asked for someone to remove two links from my watch, & was told there was only 1 person in the store who could do it so I waited for her. Once we get started she bangs on the band frantically (to get the pins out) and uses wire cutters to pull the pin once it has been pushed out. The first pin she pulls, she flings it across the jewel case and loses it. The second pin she pulls she bends it because of the tool she decided to use. She's banging on my watch aimlessly like she's hoping to get lucky and the link falls off. Both sides of my watch are now scratched up. It was a brand new watch I just pulled out of the box. So after 20 minutes of watching her bang my watch around (don't ask me why I didn't yank it out of her hand and walk away) she tries to send me away with one missing pin and one bent pin. I told her I want two new ones so she digs through her tool box and tosses two used pins in my bag of links.
If a Belk manager reads this, please pull the footage and review the tape. I will gladly give you the exact day and time I was there. This woman needs either more training or to be in a...
