Food Lion — Local services in Southern Pines

Deli has inconsistent hours. Went in tonight at 5:30 pm, two people working in the delivery, requested some delivery meat was told they were closed because they lost an assistant manager, which to the customer makes no sense. My husband and I spend a lot of money at this store and the service is horrible. My husband asked to speak to the young bearded store manager that did not present himself as a manager, but a stock boy. His face said it all...I could give a hoot. Why couldn't he have asked the women to slice aome meat it would have been no more than 5 minutes. Most of the time you can't get fresh fried chicken as it sells out by 2 pm. What kind of deli is this? Publix in Florida....you can call the store at 8:30 and order fried chicken cooked to order. This store, your always waiting on someone to show up and serve you. This store is always stocked, clean, and an outstanding staff with the exception of the person working cash register #2 at my time of visit. She was beyond rude and completely ignored me when I asked a question..twice. She was slamming items and it was apparent that this was her personality and not just a bad day. Thankfully, the cashier working self check out came to my rescue. She was so kind and helpful. I'd also like to say how wonderful the man was in the meat department that day. Extraordinary employee who went above and beyond. Thank you ! Excellent store with just one bad employee. My time of visit at checkout was 15:05:14...

This is the 3rd Food Lion I've been in since the governor mandated wearing masks in public, and the employees where not taking serious precautions. Some were the masks half way down their chin, others weren't wearing them at all. At first, I thought this was just a management problem in Asheboro and Winston-Salem, but today it was the same in Pinehurst off of Morganton Road. The store was nice, clean, and well stocked, but people were not very friendly, and again, practicing little to know safety...
