First let me break this down on why I am giving 2 stars.
5 Stars - Cleanliness of the store great, though I do agree a bit cluttered. 5 Stars - For a great selection and they usually have those hard to find books that I can not seem to find anywhere else. Now this is where is gets a bit tricky staff is great with a FEW EXCEPTIONS. My rating is based upon my customer service issue. Went to the store purchased my hard copies of books, then had to purchase a book online. Had to do 2 separated transactions for this. I was happily to oblige with this. Was told that I would receive an email, so got home last stop of the day went to check my status and when it would arrive. No email called the store got a lady that was looking, put me on hold to see where the book was and why I didn't get an email. She then came back asked me for my number to call me back when she got off the phone. This is where is gets irritating. I waited the rest of the day, the next 3 days for that call. Hoping maybe if she handed it off to someone else that she would follow up with me. Yep nothing was followed up with and my issues was left is the cold. So I called the store back to find out what happened and what was going on. This is where another lady helped me (no offense but it seems the staff is all female no men nothing) and she proceeded to to look for it, and wouldnt you know it she said " i am sorry i dont see your order" you took my card information ran it. Yes we have to since it is an online order. 1. You should be able to print out some type of conformation on the order there in the store even if its a small receipt. 2. Training for every sales associate for online orders needs to be redone and make it a 2 person verification have a manager verify the order. 3. If you are going to take the extra mile to tell someone you are calling them back please do. I know this may not be policy but call them back. I have to travel to get to my store locations in any direction a good hour or more a way. I felt like this was a very much waste of my time and the sale associate placing the order that she never processed through even after taking my CC information. Oh and yes that is where the 2 stars comes in at. I did however check with my bank to make sure that it did not process nor was it pending as well as make sure that any and all transactions are now needing verification because of this. They have lost me...
Read moreI love this book store. I was able to find two of my favorite children book The Giving Tree and Love you forever. Book that I was planning to give as a present but I kept it. Yes I know at did bad but ; on my defense I an a softie and sentimental and got other presents to give. Anyway the staff where great helping me find the books. The store was very organized. Plenty of varieties of merchandise. One thing I would like to see back in the store are those cozy chairs we could find on the big Books-A-Million stores. I hope they will open...
Read moreWas with my sister, who was looking for something in particular, which they did not have. The smallish store lacks the open feel that encourages browsing. We couldn't locate the store by Googling "Books a Million", not realizing it had been abbreviated to "BAM", a truly awful name. When my sister checked out, she was offered some kind of frequent-shopper membership, which actually required her to pay to join!! Still, anywhere that sells actual, physical books isn't all bad...just needs a better...
