I stopped into Tango's on a work trip, not realizing it was a Hotel Restaurant, for an early dinner. The reviews on Google are a bit hit and miss but here was my experience.
Service The Service was excellent although it was a slower Monday evening. I was quickly seated, ordered, and had my food brought out. There was some slight surprise that I ordered no drinks (Alcohol) as I'm sure that's the norm there, but nothing that made me feel out of place. My waiter checked in pretty often and I didn't want for water.
Food The food is mostly normal American although the prices are very high as it's a Hotel Restaurant. I had the Burger from a surprisingly limited menu, which was good but nothing I'd talk about to others. None of the dishes looked to be elevated in any interesting way, especially any way that would reward the price. Perhaps something like the Steak is a bit more special, perhaps not, I can't say for sure.
Atmosphere For my taste the decor, for me, was a little bland and trying too hard to be upscale. The space is nice and very clean and the bar looked like the more interesting area to be in both in terms of decoration and crowd. I'm unsure how much of the look is enforced by the Hotel itself but something a little out of the ordinary would have been more fun. Still, the space is clean and well maintained which goes a long way.
Recommendation If you're looking for somewhere to stop in with a higher end business crowd and want a good but standard meal, Tango's will hit the mark. It seems like a drinks oriented establishment so if that's not your scene, maybe find another eatery. Keep in mind the prices are high for what you get but it matches the vibe of the restaurant and the hotel so that's to...
Read moreI did not have car for the first night at the Westin, so I was captive to Tangos. I believe the description said "casual but elegant", however I question the latter. It tries to double as a sports bar, and fancy restaurant, but you cannot have elegance with a party at the bar. The bartender was very popular and folks were having a good time. Because I soloed, I positioned myself away from the bar, but in view of the tv screen. My server, Chris, was efficient, and professional, as were all Westin staff. I ordered a glass of a Paring red blend at $13. It was fruity, but the finish had some bite to it. The list overall was okay. For an entree I ordered the Zip Tips, sauteed beef tips with mushrooms sauced over garlic mashed potatoes, at $34. Frankly, the Zip sauce could have used a little zag to go...
Read moreI gave it three try’s and each time there was a failure. They do not cook meats to desired temperature especially when they are selling $45 steaks. Atmosphere is dry and the food just doesn’t meet the standard. Service was good and great personalities but management doesn’t seem to really want to make things right. After the 3rd visit and issue, I was forced to skip dinner and ruin a perfectly good Saturday evening. The resolution from management was to wave my $8.00 bill, I opted to pay the bill and left a $20. A normal restaurant would have absolutely invited me to a “makeup” dinner the next evening. I was supposed to stay at the hotel for another 9 days, I have decided due to the lack of a good restaurant to cancel the remainder of my reservation and go to...
