I arrived at 4pm to check in and was told my room wasn't ready... even though I checked in through the app the day before. I was asked to give them 10 minutes. While on my way back to my vehicle two people entered to check in and was given their room without issue. I doubled back and asked, "So is MY room just not available or does this apply to everyone?" The older guy said, "It's just your room." STRANGE RIGHT? Anyway... I gave them 25 minutes. When I returned, the older guy said I was good. As he prepared my keys I was looking at my phone and felt eyes on me... it was the younger guy. He then compliments my gold neckalce saying, "Nice chain." I said, "Thank you." He then asks, "Is it new?" Trying not to seem weirded out I just said, "No." The younger guy then jumps onto the computer to finish the computer work, says something to the older guy, and walks away. Then the older guy handed me my keys. Imagine my surprise when I approached the room (which I'd specifically chosen 2 weeks prior in the app) and the key didn't work. I returned to the front desk thinking maybe it was a mistake. Nope... the younger guy said he changed my room. When I mentioned having to wait so it could be cleaned one of the men said, "Well, it still isn't available. If you give us 45 minutes, it will be." Absolutely not! I was exhausted and just wanted to relax. So, I sucked it up and accepted the room change; which was quite unsettling because why would you change it AND not tell me? I get to the room to discover a filthy dresser/tv stand and sheets that had been slept in (there was blonde hair all in the sheets... counted 7 strands... AND beige makeup smeared on the pillows). I went BACK downstairs, and the younger guy acted like I was lying. He rolled his eyes and said, "I'll go check." I said, "No need... you want to see the photos or the video I recorded?" He then goes, "Fine! We'll just put you in another room!" At this point he was aggressive so again... absolutely not! I told them I need a refund because I no longer feel comfortable being here. The older guy (maybe early 50's) was polite... it was the younger guy (maybe in his 30's) who was rude. Maybe I watch too many movies... but it was giving: 'Let's seclude this woman who is here alone... and we can only do it by changing her room.' Especially after the younger guy was eyeing my jewelry AND spearheaded the room change. It's sad because this is a new hotel. But I will NEVER recommend this place nor...
Read moreWe had a bad experience at this hotel. It all started on the 25th of July, the day of my daughters wedding. I booked a room at this hotel because it was in walking distance of the venue. Following the ceremony we went to the room (332) and began to settle in for a nice quiet evening and was getting ready to shower. My fiance' was getting into the shower and noticed black mold all along the bottom of the shower. We called front desk multiple times and placed on hold with no return. We immediately dressed, packed and left the room. We went to reception and demanded our money back. The manager on site (Abdul) immediately complied without question and gave us a receipt showing the return of funds. At this point we thought that our ordeal was over. It was not. The following day, the pics and receipt were sent to the general manager (Samir Patel). The manager was initially apologetic and "offered" 15,000 Hilton Honors. I said great. Again, i thought the ordeal was over. It was not. A couple of days later i decided to check my credit card account to make sure everything was ok. It was not. The hotel drafted my card for the room charge again in the amount of $187.73. I immediatley contacted the manager on site (Abdul) to find out what was happening. He would not answer any questions and said that i had to contact the general manager (Abdul) again. I did so and he called me back. This is where the scam indicated the scam. He stated that because i said ok to the points that i was ok with them recharging me for a room that i never stayed in. Let me repeat this. I never stated that i was accepting points in lieu of a room charged. I told him this repeatedly and kept saying that i accepted it. I had to get off the phone with him because i began to get agitated. That very day i disputed the charges with my card company with pictures of the mold and a return receipt. My fiance' contacted their corporate office and thought that she was getting somewhere with them until they started to reiterate the points scam.
This level of unprofessionalism, paired with lies and manipulation is...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for a weekend baseball tournament. We are a group of 11 family's (45 people). The hotel was very clean, comfortable, had a decent hot and cold breakfast, and was conveniently located to plenty of conveniences (Starbucks, Tim Hortons, McDonald's, target, Walmart, Meijer are all within 5-15 mins away).
The rooms are clean and fairly spacious. The mini fridge was great. We also had a microwave. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were also clean, well stocked, and water pressure was great. The ice machine in the hallway was great for packing our coolers.
It's a challenge to book for 11 families arriving and leaving on different days, but the hotel staff, in particular Saleem, made it very easy. Despite numerous changes I had to make for the group leading up to our stay, Saleem was extremely helpful and never made it feel as though it was a hassle on their end (even though I am sure it must have been), he was always very kind, friendly, and helpful. I can't say enough good things about him. I would also like to acknowledge Allan at the front desk who was also extremely friendly and helpful in passing on details to Saleem when needed and helping our group during our stay.
One of our players suffered a major injury and the staff helped us find local medical attention quickly. We are very grateful.
The layout of the hotel is also nice. The indoor pool has access to the patio, so if you don't want to swim, you can still hang out nearby your group. The lobby area is very large for a team gathering if the meeting rooms are unavailable. The treat shop by the lobby is well stocked and convenient. There is an ATM if needed. Plenty of free parking...
