I am extremely disappointed and outraged by the way this facility has treated my 74-year-old father, a military veteran, who has lived here for 9 years. After two unfortunate occurrences of bed bugsâone of which we successfully resolved with my assistanceâthe facility is now threatening to evict him, citing "health and safety" concerns.
The second incident happened during a time when I was unable to assist as I had just undergone surgery and couldn't lift or move heavy items. This was explained to the facility, yet they showed no compassion or understanding of the situation. Instead of offering support or reaching out to me as his guardian for assistance, they moved straight to threats of evictionâduring the holidays, no less!
Evicting an elderly, disabled veteran without making reasonable accommodations or allowing time for resolution is not only heartless but possibly illegal. Their failure to communicate effectively with me as his guardian demonstrates a complete lack of care for their residents' well-being and dignity.
I would strongly caution anyone considering this facility for themselves or their loved ones. No one should have to fear being put out on the street, especially vulnerable seniors who rely on these facilities for stability and care. Itâs appalling that a place designed to provide safety and comfort would treat a veteranâwho served this countryâwith such disregard.
If you care about your loved ones, think twice before trusting them to a facility that prioritizes rules over compassion and refuses to work with families to find solutions. This experience has left us deeply disappointed, stressed, and searching for...
Read moreThe worst place to put ANYONE that you love.....If I could give this place a negativt 10 I would. Well I've reached out to the Director and she has yet to return my call. The problem is they continue to attempt to collect a bill when my father stayed there. He has been decesed since July of 2015. I moved him out of the facility in March of 2015 after the staff on the Memory Care floor over medicated him and he was rushed to Providence Hospital. Prior to that he was housed on the supposedly secure Memory Care floor which he was able to wonder out of the building four times. On two occasions I was notified by Southfield Police before the facility. In July of 2015 Watermark reached out to me and knowing I could have taken legal matters against them, advised me the account qouwobe closed out with no money owed... Fountains of Franklin put the bill on my credit report which I recently found out when my a attempted fraud was made against me.Ive reached out to there billing department and I got brushed off.I Will NEVER give them a dime and will use my social media to continue let people...
Read moreMy family member was only there for 5 months but it felt longer. He was in the assisted living residence. The staff was cold and indifferent. you could never get administrative staff to return your calls when you had a question or concern. We hired our own caregivers to take care of our family member which helped us to stay as long as we did. The food was bland and marginal. When he did ask for seconds the reply was often that there was not enough food for seconds. No coffee. Easter dinner was a cold cut sandwich. He had frequent hospitalizations but on his last hospital stay they refused to allow him back into the facility on the day of his return citing his diagnosis of C-Dif. This is despite the room quarantine due to Covid and his having his own caregivers. They confronted me at the elevator bringing the wheelchair to the car and verbally assaulted me in the open area in front of staff barking that he could not return until his treatment for C- was completed. He died 2 weeks later. What a way to treat the sick and dying. Don't bring your...
