I like shopping here. Most of the retail staff is friendly. Can’t wait for the Apple store to reopen. Patrons and some sales people can be pretentious
UPDATE 2/9/19- Not sure why, but the atmosphere here has gotten awkward. Most recently, I had a repair appointment after work at the reopened Apple Store. I knew I would need to kill time for at least an hour or more while I waited. Looked at the watches, as I’m considering whether to buy one; accessories, etc. The entire time, I was watched, primarily by two customers (I m confident they weren’t Loss Prevention) and the Officers present. Odd.
Eventually, I walked up to Starbucks. Walked in and 3 customers were watching me. Fortunately, the person taking my order had sense and manners. Ordered tea and a snack, paid with app, left. Walking back towards Apple Store, I stop on the corner to answer my work phone. Still standing there, I start talking about work. I hear this door locking behind me. I turn around, and this woman had just locked Pottery Barn’s single door, which faces the corner. She sees me see her, and quickly tries to act as if she hadn’t seen me, and walked away. Oooookaaaaay. (I kind of wanted to be petty and make a big deal about it, because locking public exits during business hours is illegal).
I sit down on a public bench because this is going to be a long call. I stand up. I pace a bit to help me think. I drink my tea; eat my snack. Eventually I make my way back to Apple. I’m out there, on the phone, for 15 minutes, and the Officer comes out of the store. I keep about my business. He goes to one end of the building, leans against it. After that I forget; the call is past an hour.
At some point he’d left. It was just me and an elderly lady. She was waiting on someone. She walked over to the police suv that was parked in front of Apple, and I can’t tell if she’s talking with someone in the vehicle or looking in. At some point she left, cop is back. Some other people show up; relatively young. I’m still talking.
I’m winding my call down, and I made a statement that indicates I’m a lawyer. Which I am. I see the Cop look up quickly, write something down, put pad or note in the vehicle and go back inside. I eventually get my phone back and go home. Uh....
I’m going to continue to shop here, but something weird is going on. This has been happening more frequently at this shopping center and hadn’t before. I moved to the area...
Read moreCentral Market and Nostrum's Rack are great. Got my organic foods and returned my two pair of shoes purchased online in one stop. I love both places typically have no issues when shopping here. Parking can be a little crazy on the weekends when it's at peak times, but that's to be expected. It's one of the nicer areas of DFW now.Two of my favorite places to shop are located in the shops at South lake. Anthropologist caters to the young and to the young at heart. Their selection is almost always outstanding. I find their Styles fresh and exciting. Also Sun dance is a great small shop. Their jewelry is always unusual and exceptional. My favorite pair of jeans came from there!A visit to Williams Sonora at holiday time is always a treat. Besides their standard fare, their holiday items are sure to please and you can enjoy free samples of mulled cider, cookies, and assorted sweets. Staff always very knowledgeable, attentive...
Read moreThere's a Barnes & Noble bookstore so I'm ecstatic!! An actual brick and mortar bookstore, an endangered species these days. I'm good for hours while the family shops at the great variety of shops here in Southlake. Plenty of places to eat with excellent variety. An Apple Store so you can check out the latest toys and tech or get help with your device. There's also a DMV in the basement of Southlake City Hall so you can get your car registration done during regular business hours. On the way out there's a USPS office for stamps and dropping off any packages. There's a nice park and lakes throughout the Shops at Southlake so you could literally spend the day here...
