BE WARY OF THIS SHADY COMPANY, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. On Oct 5 I filled out 2 online forms for an estimate on getting my septic tank pumped from Mr Rooter and also Waters Vacuum Services. I needed the tank located, the caps dug down to, and the tank pumped. Michelle from Mr Rooter called back almost immediately. I stated that I only wanted the tank located and pumped and she said she would send someone out the next day. The next day Jake shows up, runs his camera down the clean out pipe and informs me I have a serious problem. He runs his camera about 6 feet and can go no further. He says my lateral line from the house to the tank has disconnected from the tank and there’s a huge root ball that has to be removed and if I don’t get it taken care of immediately I was going to have a major sewage problem. I’m immediately skeptical because I hadn’t had any problems in the house and there was no signs of a problem in the yard to indicate a dislocated pipe. I call Waters Services for a second opinion, but they don’t have a repairman available for at least a week. I’m thinking if there truly is a major problem I’d better get it fixed and I agree to the job which is scheduled for the next day. The next day the diggers show up with Jake and he collects the $6740 for the repair. He also says that the septic pumping would cost $1500, but they’d include it with this repair. He shows them where to dig and then leaves. The diggers dig for approximately 1 hour and uncover the tank about 2 feet down. They continue to unearth the pipe leading from the tank to the house and discover that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the system at all. There is no leakage along the pipe anywhere. I ask them to open the cap and when they do I immediately realize that Jake’s camera was actually hitting the back of the pipe in the tank all along and he misdiagnosed it. I take pictures and send them to both Jake and Michelle telling them that there is no problem and that I want at least half my money back if not more. That Friday the septic tank was scheduled to be pumped and Michelle came back with a different guy to confirm whether there was a problem or not. He confirmed there was not and Michelle says she will only refund me $3370.28, which is half of the amount I paid. Also, the septic pumper showed up and guess what, it’s Waters, the other company I had contacted for a quote. They subcontract the pumping with them. By this time I had gotten a quote from Waters and they would have only charged me $1200 for the pumping and Mr Rooter was charging $1500. I ask Michelle why she charges so much more, but she didn’t answer and she left. Later that day I call Michelle to tell her that only one tank could be pumped because her crew didn’t uncover the other cap to pump the dark water tank. She scheduled the diggers to come out on Monday and the other tank to be pumped on Friday. On Friday the pumping was finally completed. It has taken 2 weeks to get the septic tank job completed and nobody came back to fill in the second hole, my husband had to do it. I assess the situation and am upset because I was charged $3370 to have my septic tank pumped which by their own admission should have cost only $1500. I call the Corporate office on Monday morning and complain that I should get $1800 back. They take my information and record my complaint and says they will call me back within 48 hours and they never do. I am contacted via text when I leave a 0 review and go through the whole spiel again. After texting back and forth for 2 days I am informed that basically I was lucky to get back half my money and that no more will be given. This company ripped me off and from reading other reviews, has done the same to others. In what universe does it cost $3370 to pump a septic...
Read moreI needed to have an old double sink removed and a new single kitchen sink installed. I wanted to hire a plumber to get it done correctly and within my budget, so I got quotes from multiple companies. Mr. Rooter's was the most affordable so I went with them. Beau gave me the estimate on a Tuesday and said someone can come install on Wednesday. However, I said I am not available Wednesday and would like it on Friday afternoon. He said he'll let them know and I figured someone from the company will call me. On Wednesday, while I was at work, I got a text saying a tech was on the way for the installation. Good thing my boyfriend was home early from work, but I expected them to call and schedule a time on Friday. They said they'll come back, but since they were already there, might as well get it done.
Per my boyfriend, Scott and a trainee worked on the project to remove the old and install the new sink. He also said the quote given to us was lower than what he would have quoted it, but since the price was already agreed on, he went with the price by Beau.
There was a leak in the pipes when I got off work to check it, but it was small so since it was late in the day I decided to contact them the next day. Scott left his number for a follow up if there were issues, but when I texted and called him about the problem, I didn't hear anything from him for a few days. I finally decided to call the main line and was directed multiple times, but someone was able to put me on the schedule to get the leak looked at. Connor came 1.5 hours earlier than the time frame I was scheduled for, but again good thing my boyfriend was home. Connor was able to fix the leak and there hasn't been any problems since. Two days after Connor came to fix the leak, I got a text that a tech is on their way. But I did not make additional appointments. I thought it was an error, but later when I got home from work, Scott left a note at the door. He never called me back saying he'll come by or acknowledge my text/call with voicemail. Then he randomly puts me on the schedule without me knowing, so of course no one would be home. Do they expect us to be sitting at home waiting all the time and not have jobs? It is very inconvenient when they arrive at an unexpected day/time which had me take out 1 star.
Additionally, the second star is because I expected the overall job to be done better by Scott and his trainee. There was residual all around the sink that was not removed. He said they're afraid to scratch the countertops? I attached a picture of what some of the leftover residual looks like. When hiring someone to install the sink, I didn't expect them to consider that a finished job. The new sink also was not flush with the countertop because the sealant was not applied evenly. I am afraid water can get underneath with mold growth in the future. Since it was going from a double to single sink, there was a part of the pipe that was open and stuffed with a paper towel. Scott mentioned it wouldn't be a problem unless the pipes become clogged? So I had to go to the Home Depot myself to find a cap to replace the paper towel.
If I knew these were all the things I would have to deal with from the beginning, I would have chosen a different company to do this project. But I chose them because they have some good reviews on Google and seemed legit.
Lastly, I still have not received a receipt for the project and he mentioned they got a new person so it might be taking some time. But I didn't expect it to take this long and I am not sure if I will get a receipt at this point. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but I wish I would have known this is what their service would be like. I hope they see this as an opportunity to improve for...
Read moreDO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!! NOT RECOMMENDED!!! On Friday, May 3rd, 2019 Mr Rooter was hired to completely change out all of the plumbing under our 50 year old house. We were advised it would take 2 days. On Monday, May 7th, Richard showed up at 11:00 and was here until 12:00, then arrived at 1:50 and left at 5:15 for a total of 4.5 hours. On Tuesday, May 8th, Richard arrived at 9:40 and left at 12:10, then arrived at 1:30 and left at 6:30 requesting full payment, plus Richard demanded $200 cash, but could not produce any receipts for the extra cash. The work was checked on Wednesday, May 9th and was found to be of very poor quality and only half done. A stop payment was issued on the check until the work could be done properly and the manager was contacted. The manager, Mark and Richard both met here at 12:30 on Thursday, May 9th for a short time and then left again. Richard came back at 2:30 and left again at 4:30 for a total of 2 hours, but the job still was not done correctly. On Friday, May 10th, Richard showed up again about 12:30 for a couple of hours, but the job still was not done correctly. On May 28th, Mike showed up around 11:30 and left about 1 pm with the job finally finished and the check for payment was released. It was an easy job with two straight runs of pipe that could have been completely replaced properly in about 12 hours as we were quoted by two other companies. The entrance was dug out a great deal in advance for easy access to and from the under side of the house. Why was it so quiet during the majority of the time Richard was under the house, when every noise made under the house by anyone else can be heard. Clearly it did not need to take a legitimate company 3 weeks to do the work!!! DO NOT HIRE...
