Sierra Gold Seafood — Local services in Sparks

I spoke with Sierra Gold a couple days before Christmas. They told me they were getting fresh live crab the next morning and would be cooking it and offering it for sale in time for Christmas. My husband was there first thing in the morning and paid almost $50 for two crab. He came home and put it in the refrigerator, and then next day I opened the bag to get the crab out and clean it. The smell was atrocious. It was Christmas Eve day and I couldn't return it. I cleaned it but the meat still smelled like sewer. It was either frozen/thawed, old, or caught in a slough somewhere. My husband emailed them to tell them what happened and we got no response. Ruined my Christmas...

Came here looking for lobsters and found exactly what we needed! I think it's safe to say that many of us have heard the radio ads - Sam Shad (sp?) touting the fresh seafood and services of Sierra Gold Seafood. :). Let's just say, when I finally visited the store, I was not disappointed.

The store decor is inviting, whimsical and I thought it was just a nIce setup. The gentlemen manning the counter were friendly and helpful, as they helped us and others who had come in. It had gotten busy while we were there but the men handled the small crowd quite well, engaging each customer as they came up to the counter. An overall positive experience and I must say, Sam Shad (sp?)...

I went in there originally to get some crab and then I started looking at the oysters and they gave me a sample to try then they talked me into some ahi poke which I'm not much into eating that kind of stuff but it was very good. They advised me on how to cook the scallops that I ended up getting and they turned out amazing, they were so fresh. Then I was looking at some crab for a crab louie and the gentleman behind the counter was so helpful so I ended up with crab too. My experience at Sierra gold Seafood was fantastic and I will definitely be going back and I will be telling friends of mine...
