I went into store on July 29th. Lots of people behind desk, but was hard to get anyone to look up and acknowledge me. I started working with a sales rep and he warmed up more when I explained that I am ready to buy. He did a good job though.
The package I got, I had to wait for the oven to arrive. Delivery scheduled for August 18 and anxious as we are moving into house the following day. Well, they called on the 16th and said they sold our fridge. They did say that another one is coming on Monday and they will deliver. Hopefully they will follow through. :) Disappointed because thought they would offer a slight discount or 25.00 off delivery, etc nothing. Then I saw the review posted before me and suspicious! Possibly a little favoritism? )UPDATE: I confirmed that the previous review had nothing to do with fridge that we bought. :))
Also, called last week and asked for payment in full before delivery. Husband went in and paid, but he also said he wasn’t greeted and awkward experience.
Hope we have good results with delivery and follow through with refrigerator!
UPDATE:: Well….we will never do business with this place again and we hope if anything goes wrong with our appliances, we have a better experience with service.
We did get our fridge as promised, so that made me :) The long-term installation employee that installed the microwave and dishwasher was AMAZING. Very nice and professional.
The delivery of the appliances didn’t go smooth for multiple reasons (won’t detail them all). A big kicker was that they put dings in our freshly painted walls from hauling the fridge in (they hauled the old same sized one out shortly before without incident). I was downstairs (just a few steps from them) and heard them struggling and yelling at each other. (I didn’t check the walls after the new one was hauled in and they didn’t tell me about the damage).
Then, they told me the fridge wasn’t going to fit and I would have to take baseboard off and it will possibly fit. Well, they left and I pushed the fridge in no problem.???
There are a couple of other things that contributed to my frustration while they were here….but will end with the biggest kicker: my husband called to give feedback about the wall dents to the salesperson. We will take ownership of the fact that we were extremely frustrated and crabby with them because of this situation.Husband sent photos and manager called and said,…..just some spackel and paint will fix it (after our salesperson had told my husband previously that he had gotten a complaint from someone else about issues with the same crew). The manager said that no way could I hear them yelling when bringing in the fridge? What? I was a few steps away from them. He also told husband that they felt rushed because I rushed them? WHAT? They could have taken as much time as they needed? AND manager said he didn’t appreciate our negative review.
Overall a bizarre experience.
Thank goodness it wasn’t a total bust. Installation guy was amazing and Salesman did a good job helping me pick out the appliance. So far I love the appliances …they way they look and functionality. Just hope we don’t have problems with them, because I don’t want to deal with...
Read moreI am absolutely thrilled to share my heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding customer service I experienced at Karl's Spearfish Store. From the moment I stepped into the store, I was met with an unparalleled level of excellence that truly exceeded my expectations.
I recently purchased a refrigerator at a remarkably competitive price, all thanks to the incredible sales associate, Ryan. Not only did he help me secure a fantastic deal, but he also went above and beyond by arranging for the delivery on the very same day. The delivery team, comprised of knowledgeable and professional individuals, ensured a seamless and hassle-free experience.
However, a minor concern arose a couple of days later when I noticed a slight increase in the noise level from the refrigerator. I was genuinely impressed by how Chris and Ryan handled the situation with the utmost professionalism. They demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring my satisfaction and happiness as a customer.
What truly stood out was their genuine dedication to resolving the issue promptly. They shared the mission of Karl's, which is centered around making customers happy, and they certainly embodied this philosophy. I sought advice from Ryan, who offered practical solutions tailored to my situation. He even suggested possibly purchasing a chest freezer to address the concern, showcasing his thorough understanding of my needs.
As I considered the new solution, an unforeseen challenge emerged. The freezer's size posed a compatibility issue for my garage, leading me to explore using an extension cord. Once again, Ryan's professionalism shone through as he advised against the extension cord option due to safety concerns. Despite my decision to return the freezer before delivery, the store's commitment to my best interest remained unwavering.
This exceptional experience highlighted Karl's customer-centered approach, even when a sale was not finalized. The integrity and professionalism displayed by the sales associates and the entire team during this transaction were genuinely commendable. It reaffirmed my belief that Karl's places customer satisfaction above all else, proving their dedication to fostering genuine relationships.
As a marketing professor with decades of experience, I find Karl's to be an exemplary business model, especially for our MBA students. The dedication, integrity, and customer-focused approach demonstrated by the store's team serve as an invaluable lesson in creating lasting customer relationships.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire Karl's team, including the receptionists, store secretaries, and all other business professionals involved. Your commitment to excellence has left an indelible mark on me, and I wholeheartedly endorse Karl's Spearfish Store as a shining example of exceptional customer service and business integrity. Thank you for setting the bar so high and for making a lasting impression on me as a customer. Thank you again,...
Read moreWe purchased a GE refrigerator from Karl’s in Spearfish several years ago. We paid a premium price because the sales person spoke so highly of the GE and the fact that this was the only refrigerator made in the US. We declined the extended waranty based on the fact that they have never had any problems with the GE units. After 18 months the unit stopped making ice and the freezer unit quit cooling. Karl’s repair person said a new ice maker was required which they had to replace 3 times before the correct unit was installed. We paid the $128 for the new ice maker and were told it would be making ice and freezer working the next day. That never happened and after several calls to service dept they brought a loaner and took the refrigerator to their store. After 2 weeks it was returned and operated about 3 months before the same problem returned. The unit was then returned to Karl’s to repair again. Both times required having to make arrangements for the freezer contents. No loaner was provided. After 30 days the unit was returned a second time. Within 3 months the same problems surfaced. As the frustration mounted I had several conversations with the service manager and asked for a replacement unit since they were unable to fix this one. I was told this was beyond his pay grade and needed to talk to the store manager. The store manager was aware of the situation and said I had 2 choices - they could come get the refrigerator to attempt to repair it but would require me to pay for the repair up front before the unit was “released” and they were booked up for 3 weeks or if I need a refrigerator they had many on the floor I could purchase. He stated “we don’t build these we just sell them!” Needless to say I would not trust my unit with them for a third time. I contacted a refrigerator repair service in Rapid City who came up that week and found a small leak in the refrigeration system that caused the refrigerant level to drop to a level that caused both the ice maker and freezer to not perform. K & D did the repairs and the unit is performing as expected. The $128 I paid for the ice maker that was never required was never refunded. The condescending attitude and total lack of respect for my problem by the store manager in addition to their inability to detect and solve the problem is inexcusable. I will never set foot in their store again and travel to Rapid City for any purchase I make and suggest anyone else consider...
