Store and products are great, as always. But the management staff here is not.
My mother and I went in today to return a couple of things (nothing wrong with them- they were just X-mas gifts that we were returning). Long story short, because Hobby Lobby doesn’t scan items (they manually input each) and there is no description on the receipt other than the department the item is from, we couldn’t find one of the items that was purchased on the receipt (later found it) but again this was part of a gift so we only knew what we knew about the item as it was given to us.
Again there was nothing wrong with this item although we didn’t have the packaging and the price sticker had been taken off. When Brad (whom is a manager- the store manager we believe) came over to help, he basically (not in so many words) accused us of stealing the item from a couple of days before because “since it isnt on the receipt that means it wasn’t rung up, and he doesnt know why it wouldn’t have been rung up” (mind you this was said sarcastically, implying that it hadn’t been rung up because we didn’t put it on the counter to be rung up). For a store manager to accuse customers of stealing something when we said from the beginning that it was given as an X-mas gift (hence the lack of packaging) and not taking an internal look at the employee (whom gets paid to do a job of ringing up items- which it could have simply been an honest mistake) AND how Hobby Lobby structure dictates manually entering each item and the receipt layout, he immediately went to accusations towards us.
The way we were accused and spoken to was disgusting, especially from the leader of the store. It was extremely rude and an attack on myself and my mothers character. Instead of being helpful about it, we were made to feel as if we didn’t something wrong. Neither myself nor my mother will ever shop at another Hobby Lobby because of this experience. It’s a shame because we do love the store and the products, but this experience left such a negative feeling that I will gladly spend my...
Read moreI am generally fond of Hobby Lobby, primarily for their seasonal decor and basic craft supplies (adhesives and the like). I don't count on this chain for the highest quality or specific brand-name art or craft supplies, which they don't always carry. However, their store brands in many items can be an acceptable substitute. The smaller stores such as this one in Forest City don't have the widest selection, but it is a good resource for basics in a pinch and a great place for holiday decor. It's a great place to while away some time dreaming up home and holiday decor and...
Read moreI love shopping at hobby lobby but idk if something is different now but they can't even have a quick conversation a customer starts with an employee without that male "manager" coming over and telling her to quit talking and do her job. That person may have a title of manager but if he was really management he would have taken her to the side and let her know without being in front of customers. That was extremely unprofessional and from what I'm reading in these reviews, it seems to happen a lot. I won't shop at a place where you can't even have friendly banter with...
