This is a long review, but if you plan on taking your family and are on a budget, i 100% do not recommend even considering this grossly overpriced event.
This was the last year our family will go to the Spokane County Fair. It cost us $60 to get through the gate. And they are cash only, which is absolutely ridiculous. They have atms (that BARELY WORK, took us 3 tries to get cash) by the entrance that say they charge $3.99, but my bank has an additional $2.00 charge. So it actually cost us $65.99 for 5 people to JUST WALK THROUGH THE GATE. You dont get any kind of ticket deal when purchasing admission, so you are quite literally just paying that exorbitant amount of money for the privilege of being there.
On top of that, they charge $10 (CASH ONLY) for parking. We went and parked across the street and donated $10 to the Boy Scouts (we always buy Girl Scout cookies, so had to give the Boy Scouts some love) simply because they use Venmo, welcome to 2025. All rides and games cost additional money on top of entrance fees. And after an hour of game hopping and trying different things, both our 11 year old kids left without winning a single prize.
All of the food costs extra and is disgustingly over priced. 1 root beer float was $8. In the 2.5 hours we were at the fair, we spent just under $200 and left empty handed.
The lines for the rides were ridiculously long, unless you paid extra AGAIN for a fast pass.
While shopping in the vendor booths, things were double priced when compared to online prices. With overnight shipping being a thing, it is still cheaper to order anything available at the fair online. And that way, your items haven't had hundreds of people touching it for 2 weeks.
I guess it was fun to see the farm animals.
It had been 6 years since our last visit to the fair, and we were all excited to go today. But this was such a disappointment we are for sure...
Read moreWe took our kids to the fair and got them All wrist bands little did we know our son could not ride any of the rides! They guy who sold us the wrist bands didn’t even tell us and he know all said said was yiu need to go talk to the office people then. We had at least 20 other people who said that he sold them to there children as welling knowing they can’t ride the rides. So we finly get to the office and talk to the people in there and said sorry there is nothing we can do. They said that atlEast you can still take your daughter on the rides. So I said you want me to take my daughter on the rides while my son is sitting there crying because he wants to ride on the rides also. So there employees just get to willing sell wrist bands to kids who can even ride any of the ride and get away with it! I will never be returning to...
Read moreLots of rides and food. Fair workers are all very nice. Inflation has taken its toll though. For my family of three( 2 adults and a 5yo) we spent about $300 in 4.5 hours. $34 for the admission, Approx $100 for the tickets and rides passes, $10 for parking, $30 on games, and the balance on various food vendors. I don't blame the Fair people. I blame the government who owns the fairgrounds since apparently they charge not only rent of the booth but take a percentage of their sales too. Sadly, I won't be going back until some sanity reintroduces itself to their business. I just...
