Mel's Boutique & Gift Shop — Local services in Spokane

I have tried I really have I was in the old store and treated rude beyond believe I have been in the new store on several occasions and have not once not once have I been asked if I could be helped your employees are the rudest people I have ever met in my life your things are overpriced and marked up beyond believe and I continue to wonder how you have a following you should be ashamed as a business and business owners read the ratings and take a hint or you must feel you make so much money off of other customers that nobody else's opinions matter. I have more than enough money to spend at your store and I wouldn't dream of spending a dime of it there. I can't wait until you close this location and let someone else move in the space that might better serve the Spokane area and residents as we work hard here for a living and don't expect to be treated so poorly. If given the option to give you know stars...

I have bought a lot of furniture from Mel's over the years. My last experience was today 6/30/15 (the new Mel's location) which I am very disappointed in. They have this piece of furniture in their store with a price tag on it, mind you this piece of furniture I seen five years ago at the old location. I was so happy to see they still had it. I told the lady that I wanted it and she told me the furniture in the store is not for sale that now all the furniture needs to be ordered, but this one item they won't be ordering anymore as they have to order a whole container and they don't do that anymore. I asked for a manager and she told me they have three and they are all equal. WHY DO YOU HAVE THAT PIECE WITH A PRICE TAG IF IT IS NOT FOR SALE AND YOU WON'T BE ORDERING ANYMORE??? I hope the owner will contact me and sell that piece to me. That is only good customer service and money...

This is only four stars because I simply miss their old location at the Y that was also a nursery, floral, and gift shop rolled into one. Their plants were divine!

My experience with the staff was absolutely delightful. I have a four year old son who miraculously is very gentle and respectful with breakable items. Ever since he was a toddle I have been able to let him pick up and painstakingly replace merchandise like a grownup.

Crazy right? I am used to having overbearing staff huddle over me as my son shops by my side.

But not at Mel's! The staff here ,while watchful, were always welcoming and kind to my son. Talking and asking questions. Treating the two of us with kindness and respect from the get go. I love them! This has been true at every visit.
