New to Middle Tennessee in 2022, I had left a church I loved, with a congregation filled with life-long friends and a pastor who was a friend I saw throughout the week. I knew it was going to be hard to find a āreplacement.ā Listening to God, I made the 2,300 mile trek here and began searching for my home church. There are A LOT of great churches here! For a year, I visited a dozen of them, attending at least 2-3 weeks to get a good feel for each one, meeting (sometimes in person) the pastor and getting to know some of itās members. I liked all of them for one reason or another but it didnāt quite feel like home. I knew that I would probably never find the perfect church and allowed God to guide me, listening to His still small voice. A Baptist church?! I had never attended a Baptist church before. The term, āReformed Baptistā kept arising. I had to learn about this, somewhat different theology for myself. Itās all Bible-based and right on with the true interpretation of Godās word. As soon as I stepped foot inside the building of (CBC) Community Baptist Church, I felt like family. The pastor took an interest in getting to know me. Even amongst a couple of tragic deaths of longtime church members. The preaching is phenomenal and the heart of Pastor Mike Stalnaker feels a lot like Jesus. Worship is meaningful with words that speak to your heart and is celebrated collectively. The congregation is very friendly and it doesnāt stop at the door, with their greeters. They have small groups, mid-week services, a strong menās group, womenās group and lots of activities for kids and teens. There is an all-church get together at least once a month and statement meetings to keep members informed of how membersā tithes and offerings are being spent. Many churches talk about being transparent. This church walks the walk, with a vision of expanding and making the church bigger and better, to accommodate the needs of the community. I think Iāve finally found my church home. Be sure to check us out and come say Hi if you see me wandering before or after a service. Iād love to meet you and welcome you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe're pretty picky when it comes to solid doctrine and biblical teaching. We don't go to church to be entertained or cheered up -- we go for community fellowship, worship, and God's word. Pastors Mike and Dan don't miss a beat, and even if they do, they'd be the first to admit it. With humble hearts and teachable spirits, they actively tend to the congregation as good shepherds should ... with genuine caring. They won't chase you down if you run away, but they will give you every opportunity to get connected into a body of believers that care about each other --- not because it's a social club, but because Christ tells them to. I know it sounds weird, but obedience is the best reason of all. Anyway,...
