This is a slightly different experience than your typical Dunkin or KrispyKreme and you'll notice it the moment you walk in the door. The layout is open and relaxing, with more of a comfortable lounge back feel than a restaurant approach, and the lighting is bright and warming. Not to be corny but walking in is like walking into daylight. The family that runs this location is very friendly and accommodating. When they first opened, they would talk to me every time I went in, asking how I liked the location, if I liked the variety they had, what I think they could improve, and just general conversation. Most of the time, when I visit another donut shop I feel like I need to order and move out quick, but the staff here are very personable. They have a solid variety of donuts made fresh daily on location, so they are not trucked in, and they are willing to make you something if they don't have it on the shelf. For example, I'm a big fan of lemon filled donuts, and one of the last times I went in they only had raspberry and creme filled. Instead of leaving it at that, they offered to go out back and fill a fresh one with lemon for me. You can't get that at DD or KK. Their cinnamon/coffee rolls are huge, and most times they are perfect, though I have had them a bit too cinnamon-y before. They have the more dense cake donuts, and they have the lighter yeast donuts so everyone has options, and where my kids will most times just eat the frosting off other ones we buy, they actually eat the entire donut when we buy from Daylight. Additionally, they carry Mule Town coffee, which has a nice, smooth dark roast which I prefer over the other coffee options nearby. I haven't tried the drive-through as I prefer the experience of going in and chatting with the staff when I order. The only negative with them right now is their location, and that's not an operational issue with the store or the people there. While Spring Hill is working out their infrastructure issues, especially along this stretch of Port Royal Rd, this location is at the mercy of how the city decides to handle the intersection at this location, which has changed 3 or 4 times since this store opened. If you haven't been here before, definitely swing in and give them a shot. I think it will be worth...
Read moreI’m a working class man. I’ve even delivered to this location a couple times. I finally tried them, I ordered beef (bulgogi) fried rice, No veggie, with yum yum sauce. I pick up my order, & pay, even tip, although I never had the food before, check it out before I leave, there was veggie on it, no big deal, I ask for some duck sauce, the young gentleman at the register was kind, we even talked a bit before I left, but no duck sauce. I ask for 1 more yum yum sauce, the older guy Japanese man, yells for him to charge me for it, I have no problem with that, I’m willing to pay for anything extra that I request. My issue is that he says I can only pay in cash, after I had already paid for my meal with my card & tipped nice guy at register. Of course I don’t have cash, I’m currently on my lunch break at Amazon, usually, a respectable business wouldn’t send a customer off over $1 & change, but the man did just that, the guy at cash register apologized vehemently cause he was clearly the only person aware of the implications. I will never come to this restaurant again & will continue going to Royal Events & Social Soul Food a couple doors down, they were closed for a private event so I could not place an order that day, but they know how to treat people & have the best food in...
Read moreOur new sushi spot! The ramen is equally as good. We had the California, lion king and double dragon rolls also. Everything tasted so fresh. We dined in and were told the wait would be about an hour, maybe a little longer since they had alot of phone orders ahead of us. With it being saturday night, we totally understood, so we sat down and waited. Our ramen and kimchi were brought to us about 20 minutes later. About another 15 minutes later, our sushi came out. So the wait ended up being significantly less than anticipated. The lady running the register was so helpful and kind. She wore alot of hats and was very busy but remembered to check in on us and was so sweet the whole time we were there. We live about 40 minutes away but I won't go anywhere else for our sushi and ramen from now on.
Side note: they no longer serve donuts. I don't know why, but i just heard the lady telling another...
