The people that own the business are nice but have no concept whatsoever about operating a business efficiently or with respect to the value of other people's time. 1) After finally communicating with the owner (after a day and a half of waiting for someone to return my call), I was told the business opened at 10:00 a.m. and I could drop my laptop off any time. 2) When I arrived at the business at 9:45 a.m. the following morning I waited in the parking lot for over an hour before owner arrived. As I sat there 4 or 5 more cars came and went. When I checked the website, it projected the business was "OPEN" at 10:00. Nothing however was posted on their website or FB page indicating it would be opening late. 3) Dropped my laptop off on a Wednesday. The last words I heard before walking out the door were, "its in good hands" 4) When I called Friday to see if laptop was ready to pick up, I discovered it was back at the shop Thursday, but never received a call to tell me it was back, what was wrong with it or that it was ready for pick up. 5) When I arrived to pick my laptop up the owner got somewhat impatient as I was asking questions / trying to understand what was going on with it. 6) While standing at the counter to check out, I began noticing my laptop was dirty and had drips of coffee stain on its white top. 7) On the way home I lifted the top to realize there was a run on the left side of my screen and smears across the bottom and more coffee drips below the screen and between the right hinge and speakers. 8) When I lifted the laptop up to smell around the speakers and keyboard, both had the obvious aroma of coffee. 9) I called the owner to ask if someone had spilled coffee on my laptop to which he replied, "I spilled a few drops of coffee on it but wiped it off....its just one of those things that happen. The tech said it didn't hurt it and it would be alright". 10) Funny how he wasn't forthcoming to tell me that while I was standing in his shop, instead of me discovering it for myself on the ride home; but was willing to tell me over the phone that I could turn around and drive back to the shop to have it cleaned....and they would fix it if anything went wrong. My guess is, I didn't receive a call when the laptop was ready because the coffee that was spilled on it probably needed some drying time. 11) My only suggestion in regards to this business is, leave your tech devices at your own risk. In the 30+ years I have worked in close proximity to computers I have always been warned....NEVER get close to electronics with drinks or put liquids on the same counter tops with them. 12) Now I am faced with the task of waiting and watching to see if my speakers, mother board or keyboard starts shorting out or sticking. IMPO if Main Street Tech Repair cared enough about my business to do the "RIGHT" thing, they would have taken my laptop apart and cleaned it on their dime, immediately following the coffee spill; instead of watching me walk out the door after charging me another $27.44 for labor when I had already paid a diagnostic fee of $65.80 for basically nothing....other than them making the effort to plug the laptop in, only to find out the battery is going bad.
Upon arriving at their shop Wednesday I felt good about trusting them with my computer....but after picking it up today, I realized they must pay very little attention to that wooden cross on the table in their shop that should be reminding them we treat others the way we expect to be treated.....and YES, if I ran a business the way they do, I would definitely be grateful for people who cared enough to leave feedback where I could correct the mistakes that eventually lead to a...
Read moreI went to Main Street Tech Repair to get my shattered screen replaced. They got me in the same day, which I appreciated — but just one day later, the new screen started acting up. It was still usable, but clearly defective. I reached out to them and was met with a rolling eyes emoji and was told to come in Tuesday because they were closed Monday. Not exactly professional.
By Tuesday, the screen had completely failed. I couldn’t see anything except for lines across the display. I texted ahead and told them I was coming. Once there, I asked for a refund because I no longer trusted the service and wanted to take it somewhere else. I declined to let them take the screen off again — I had just paid them two days earlier, didn’t drop the phone, and didn’t expose it to water. Something clearly went wrong with their repair.
The woman working there got visibly angry, and when I stepped back, she shoved the phone toward me and told me to leave multiple times. I said I wouldn’t go until I got a refund. She left to the back while here husband was the one taking care of the business. After nearly an hour of back and forth, I was forced to sign a waiver refusing their warranty just to get half of my money back — after only two days with a broken screen.
This business is incredibly unprofessional, rude. I actually felt unsafe and intimidated during the experience. My apple watch even thought i had something going on because my heartrate was over 130 doing nothing. They claim to be Christian-owned, but they certainly didn’t treat me — or my property — with any care or respect.
I strongly advise against going here. Save yourself the stress and take your phone to Apple who values their customers and stands...
Read moreI would go anywhere but here. They told me it had to be the port or the battery in my iPad and shipped it to California after I called them 2 weeks after having it I didn’t hear back and it was a month later I contacted them and left a voicemail and told them just cancel any fixing of the iPad and that I would come pick it up they called me a week after that voicemail said they were on vacation and that the iPad had water damage. If you’re qualified to fix anything it shouldn’t take 1.5 months and a shipment to another state to say a device has water damage. They’re not qualified if it’s not a broken screen and I wouldn’t even waste my time trusting or going here. Usually water damage shows before a device doesn’t just stop turning on. Little strange they came back with water damage as a result when I’ve had many devices with water damage and they all started showing signs by the touch not working where as the last time the iPad was used the touch and everything was working and then it just stopped turning on one day. Just save yourself the unprofessionalism and confusion and go somewhere qualified that will and update in w professional...
