HD EMPLOYEE NEARLY COMMITS BATTERY ON 61 Y/O CUSTOMER. I went to the self checkout lane last night with 7 small items in my cart. (I had no high value items and nothing needing measurement or other special treatment) As soon as I rounded the poorly designed 180 degree hairpin turn, I saw there were numerous self-serve registers open with green lights on. As I drew near the 1st register, a male HD employee began harshly ordering me to come to the first register. I told him that I didn't need assistance and could handle the checkout myself. So, the HD employee abruptly grabs the front of my cart and uses significant force trying to physically drag me to the first register or take the cart away from me. (NOTE TO HD: I checked out at 5:29pm on 09/17/25. Please pull & review the video) He was using so much force that it was wrenching my hands and arms. Like most people, I do not naturally go towards a person who is using a hostile tone while physically trying to bully me. The HD bully must have undersestimated the strength & reflexes of the old man he chose intimidate because I pulled the cart out of his grasp as he fought to continue holding on, and I proceeded to one of the open registers that provides a little buffer/protection of my financial info from the usual hovering crowd that creates a bottleneck at the hairpin turn/first register. The angry HD employee who failed to rip my cart out of my hands immediately folllowed me down to the register I selected and he stood behind me glaring and staring at me the whole time I checked out. He made zero effort to explain his actions or what authority he had to treat me like that. Certainly, if he had the authority to drag me around by the cart and force me to register #1, then he would have the authority to walk over and cancel my transaction at the register I selected. Nope - he didn't say a word and allowed me to check myself out, confirming the obvious, that he had no authority to launch his initial attack. If this man with such terrible judgment is in LP at HD, then it's no wonder HD continues to experience so much theft. Let's see: I had nothing in my cart that is a high risk theft item. I am a financially secure, retired attorney, never been charged with a crime, beacon score well over 800 and I shop at this store regularly since I moved here from Tampa 2 yrs ago. Since the roll out of self-checkout been so badly bungled, I feel compelled to clarify a bit more: For the record, I have never seen any information about HD checkout system that was substantially changed not long ago. One day, I went to the store and everything was changed at but I did not see any notices or instructions to help customers use the new system. So, I spoke to a couple different HD employees, in the new checkout area, who explained to me that if I needed assisance or was having trouble with a transaction, they were there to help me. But if I am comfortable and competent to do self-checkout myself, that is perfectly fine. I read that some HD stores use an "assisted checkout" process that is a little different from self checkout and those HD employees may have more proactive responsibilities in the process. Regardless, I was operating under the information about self checkout that I had to pull out of HD employees initially because HD did such a poor job educating its customers. And my receipt shows that I used SELF CHECKOUT. So HomeDepot - do you condone the behavior that is...

The review below is old. I came to write a new review because I was really upset after our visit to home depo today. We were checking out and the woman in the plant nursery was incredibly rude. I guess we had the wrong codes for the rope and chain we were buying. Which was not our fault. She acted like it was our fault and sent my husband in for new codes. Im actually in the car still waiting writing this review. Ridiculous. The customer service was awful.
Old reviews that home depo never fixed from years ago:
I was on the phone all day with home depo and samsung. I'd call and be transfered to one person and then another. We had our dryer replaced yesterday because it had a dent in it when we received it. The people whom came to replace it showed us that whom ever installed the pedestals and washer and dryer the first time did not attach all necessary equipment. There were several pieces missing and screws and they clearly tried to cover up so our washer and dryer are not totally connected to the pedestals for this reason. It is something only someone whom installed it would notice. I am 9 months pregnant and my husband is a disabled vet so we definitely couldn't get down there and see it. Unfortunately, it feels like home depo and Samsung are trying to point fingers at each other and no one is taking responsibility or fixing anything. It is very frustrating. It already came damaged the first time. Not to mention that the people who came to drop off our washer and dryer the first time tried to tell me they weren't supposed to install it so I had to jump through hoops to show them they in fact did and I did pay for them to do so. I'm sure this is the reason why everything has been a mess. They told me they didn't have supplies to install it so they had to take from other orders to install our stuff. Little did I know they would try to cover up what they didn't have in the truck or decided not to put on. I feel like the communication is just not there. The people I spoke to in attempt to get someone to make this right were nice but not helpful. It's just ridiculous.. each pedestal was $400. All I'm asking is for someone to either give us the parts that are missing so we can fix it or come fix it. I'm not asking for a new anything. I just want what we paid for. I trusted the people that homedepot had install our appliances and I'm just so disappointed and disheartened by the whole situation. I took a screen shot of how long I was on hold today and it was nearly an hour but that doesn't include all of the other numbers they had me call and times they put me on hold. It was honestly over 3 hours + my husband had called earlier but he didn't have the patience to deal with it. The picture is what is missing all around the washer and dryer to connect them to the pedestals. If you have something installed from homedepot I suggest you pay very close attention and know every single little thing that needs to be installed or apparently...
Read moreI went there yesterday to return a shower head that I bought from them that did not work. Ended up getting Brian as the person to take care of me or at least try to maybe? So I didn't keep the box at the shower head came in cuz I didn't plan on returning it so I just put it in a baby formula box cuz it's what I had available. He's like what is this that I'm looking at I'm like it's a shower head. So he tries to scan the baby formula boxed to return the item. I said it's obviously not the correct box you can see it's for baby formula you don't have that here. He's like well I can't do anything but then because I don't know what it is. I googled the item and I said here this is the name here's the item number here's the skewed number. I showed him when and where I bought it. Scan the debit card that I used that I purchased it with just last month. He couldn't figure out how to do anything it took him about 10 minutes just to put a short little SKU number into the computer and then he says oh I can't return this item. I told him that that wasn't right and that I wanted to speak to a manager. As soon as I said I wanted to speak to a manager he started freaking out. He gets on the phone with the manager and he's like this guy's swearing and using vulgar language and and I told him over and over and over and over again not to do that. Literally turned into a victim after I asked for a manager. Soon as manager showed up he told me to just go get the item that I needed and we were going to swap it out plain and simple. I get the item I come back to the desk and while waiting I see Brian attempting to help another customer which failed me to have help with the new customer. Then Brian got another customer and while I'm still waiting Brian was unable to help the new customer either that's three customers in a row the Brian was unable to help. so the lady goes over to where the manager was and then I walk over behind him even though I was waiting first she got out of me. So as she's talking to the manager and she tells the manager something about the he didn't ring up the discount or the money back or something correctly. As soon as she said that Brian walked on over and he said she did this and she did not and she says no I absolutely did not that is a lie. So it seems like Brian is incapable of doing his job correctly and then when you ask for manager he lies to try to make it look like it's not his fault. A person with zero communication skills and people skills should not be working the return desk he should be stocking shelves...
