Empress of China Massage & Foot Reflexology — Local services in Spring Valley Village

New to the area, I was in search of my new regular spot. Sadly, this is not it.

I’ll preface with that I get frequent massages - from foot reflexology to high end spas.

First experience: Lady at desk kept asking if I was sure with my selection in a condescending way- I wanted 80 min foot reflexology for my tired feet. Then my therapist whined under her breath at me for my entire massage. Massage was meh, but not bad enough to give this place another try.

Second experience: Guy at the desk friendly and speaks English. Got the standard 60 min foot reflexology. My therapist was very meh. At this point I should be done with this place. But I really wanted this place to work due to location. Think square peg, round hole.

Third (and final) experience😱: I asked for 60 min massage. I asked if I could have them start with a scalp massage like they do with the reflexology massages. This woman just pulled my hair for 10 min. She starts in random places for massage, doesn’t use any lotion for the first half. I’m completely naked under a towel, which only covers part of my butt. She keeps moving the towel to my lower back completely exposing me and I keep adjusting it back. The massage itself was the most painful and horrible experience I’ve ever had. The only reason I stayed was because I didn’t have the courage to explain to someone who didn’t speak the same language that I wanted to leave. This would would have turned into a scene while I’m naked. Also of note, a few times during the massage I had wondered if I stumbled into a rub n tug place. She kept pulling my thighs open and getting right to my bathing suit area.

TL;DR: Save your money and time. Not sure the “therapists” really know what they are doing. I felt violated on my last experience and will never go back. I had to go to my fav spot in midtown to massage out the tension caused by my last...

This was a really really bad massage. It started off terrible but the lady was so nice I didn’t want to hurt her feelings. She can’t speak any English at all so it’s hard telling her what’s working and what’s not.

For those of you who get massages regularly you will understand how annoying this is: She has no pattern. Lol so one side will get a lot of attention and the other side will get a quick rub. So I feel very tight on one side and the other is throbbing (but the knots are still there) from her little fingers.

I had a 60 minute full body. I told the lady who greeted me that I wanted 10 mins on my feet. Well .. that didn’t happen. I feel more uncomfortable now than when I walked in.

The last review left by a "client" I believe is impossible....just had to put that out there. There is some one to great you the moment you walk in and the staff is all prepared for clients walking in! Which I absolutely LOVED about the whole experience! My husband both came in which looked like a busy Sunday and us being a WALK-IN got great customer service from beginning to end. We decided to treat ourselves to a combo massage which was a 30min foot and 30 min back massage all for $45.00 each! Great deal by the way! Felt amazing after too !
