I was recently in Las Vegas from Salt Lake City to visit my daughter & meet my new grandson for the 1st time. I really wanted to give my grandson a "Baby's first Christmas" ornament. I figured that Hallmark Store would be the best place for this, so I looked up the closest Hallmark store, which was the Arroyo Crossing location & when I walked in the store, I definitely knew I was right! They had multiple ornaments to choose from that were all adorable & fairly reasonably priced. I also got a "Grandbaby's first Christmas" ornament that I couldn't resist & an cutest "Baby's first Christmas" picture frame. When I walked in the store, the gal that helped me approached me right away & asked if I needed any help finding anything, so I told her what I was looking for & she quickly helped me find all of this amazing stuff. It's a good thing I was in a hurry because I probably would have been there for hours with all these adorable & awesome finds! I would have been in BIG trouble if I stayed there any longer, lol! I was really hoping to be able to include a personal 'thank you' to the lady that helped me find these things & I'm bummed because the receipt only says "reg1" instead of the name of the associate. She knows who she is & I greatly appreciate everything she did! She was freaking amazing! The quality of the ornaments are fantastic, in my opinion, as well as the picture frame & my daughter loved them! These are things he can keep for the rest of his life & they're those really special type gifts. That's what I can expect from Hallmark. I'm SO glad I went...
Read moreBeautiful store, very well-kept, clean and I love the selection(although the cards have been lacking i.e - there weren't any 70 year old cards). The staff is up your a** from the moment you walk in. I went in today with my husband and 3 year old son. There were two workers there - a darker haired girl and and older woman named Traci. Both asked numerous times if we needed help. Keep in mind, that my husband and son were looking at the toys and I was on the other side of the store in the card section. Apparently, they keep hounding my husband to see if he needed anything. I really feel that it's because they were worried that my son was going to touch and break things. This is very offensive and uncomfortable. Meanwhile, I was looking by myself and nobody came to me. I feel that's because they were so concerned about a toddler in the store - whom of which was very well behaved. There was absolutely no indication at all that he was misbehaving. End result - I had my husband take our son outside in 108 degrees to wait for me while I paid. I felt very anxious and felt rushed. I spent about $80 there and WOULD HAVE SPENT MORE, had I not felt offended and uncomfortable. My advice to management is that being helpful is great - BUT if someone says they don't need help, leave them be. I felt like a criminal in the store and I don't appreciate feeling like my son didn't...
Read moreI've never been treated as though I was going to steal something in any Hallmark, until that day. I have a long career in loss prevention and customer service and the treatment was uncalled for. Being shadowed and asked, " Would you like me to hold those cards for you at the counter?".. it was three cards.. then shadow me and my wife as we move from display to display. I'm a black male, and I'm not even going to pull the race card because that treatment was purely judegmental and prejudice. Even my wife, who is white, felt uncomfortable and irritated. At checkout I wasn't even offered a chance to check my rewards and use them, just rushed to be done. I've never had a Hallmark transaction that fast. And when I did check my rewards, there were coupons for me to use on that order. But the feeling was mutual, just wanted to be put of there. Maybe some training is needed in how to correctly service a customer, without making them feel rushed and if they are stealing. I don't believe we'd be giving our business to that location in the future. But we definitely are owed an apology, because that was just ridiculous. I couldn't wait to get this survey...
