Placed an order for pick up around 8:00 PM on Aug. 30, 2019. I received an email saying I would be notified when it was ready.
At about 1:30 PM the following day on Aug. 31 I placed another order for pick up and my account showed the pick up order from 8:00 PM yesterday Aug 30 was ready for pick up. Why didn't I receive an email telling me this? I have no idea when it became ready for pick up because I never received an email telling me it was ready.
After I placed this new pick up order on Aug 31, I received an email telling me I would be notified when it would be ready for pick up. Three minutes later I received another email saying this newly placed order was ready for pick up. Then at 7:30 PM on Aug 31 I finally received an email telling me the order I placed 23.5 hours ago on Aug 30 was ready for pick up.
Why did it take 23.5 hours to receive an email telling me my order was ready for pick up when my account (which I never would have checked if I didn't have another order to place the next day) showed it was ready for pick up at 1:30 PM and who knows how much sooner before that it was actually ready?
On Sept. 1 at around 8:15 AM I went to pick up my two orders. No one working at the customer service Pick Up counter. There was a female employee to my left on the customer side of the counter emptying a cart, as I was standing waiting for assistance, but she ignored me and then walked right past in front of me and went down the hall to the right after emptying the cart.
I continued to wait for about 3 minutes and looked around and saw a Target employee by the self checkout but he didn't acknowledge me either. I got the impression that these Target employees couldn't care less about the customer or their jobs.
Finally the female employee who was emptying the cart came back and asked if I needed something so I told her I was there for two Pick Up orders. She asked another employee, David, to get my items. He scanned the bar code on my phone and went to get my items. He brought the two items in separate bags but he noticed one was the wrong order so he went back and got the right one. While I was waiting another person, who I am guessing was an employee but am not sure because they were wearing street clothes (a T-shirt) came out and apologized for the wait.
The bags my orders were in say "Run and Done" "Fast Track Your Target Run Choose Order Pick UP on Target.com". Unfortunately my order pick up wasn't fast. It took almost 24 hours to receive an email saying my first order was ready, and in the time I waited at the Customer Service Pick Up counter it would have been faster to go to the aisles in the store, get my items, and go through self checkout.
I get that it is wasteful to have an employee standing at the Customer Service Pick Up counter when there are no customers, but there needs to be a way for customers to notify employees that they are waiting, like a bell. Walmart uses one at their Pick Up counter.
To me the entire order pick up thing is a massive failure and I don't now why stores push it. You still have to go to the store and you have to wait longer than if you just went to the aisles and bought the items. Plus you can do this at anytime without having to wait for the order to be ready. It might be good for people who have a lot of items to buy and who don't want to spend the time shopping, but not for a few items. I honestly don't think order pick up makes people buy more than they normally would.
Changed my rating from 2 stars to 1 because one of the items is OTC medicine and the box shows an expiration date of 12/18, seven months ago. Also just received an email at 7:00 PM Sept 1 saying my order from Aug 31 is being processed and I will be notified when it is ready for pick up even though I already received an email yesterday telling me that it was ready for pick up and I already picked it up this...
Read moreI've been coming to this target for years. The whole products behind a locked glass door thing is ruining my experience. My normal quick shopping experience is taking a lot longer lately. These poor experiences are much more recognized when I'm trying to get laundry detergent that is behind the glass doors. I swear, I was standing there for 3 mins after my first sensor assistance call and I decided to put my hand on the sensor for a second time and I heard somebody's pager go off a couple lanes away so I thought a target employee was going to assist me and help me get my fabric softener. Approximately another 3 mins after the second attempt, I tried the hand sensor again and it appeared that the target employee's pager is now nowhere to be heard. I waited a couple more mins after that but honestly, 10 mins just to get 1 item is very ridiculous for the costumers shopping experience and I don't feel valued considering I heard the employees pager go off right around the corner when I used the sensor for assistance and they never even came to help. I'm sure the employees are also annoyed of having to open the glass doors assuming based off of my experience today considering the person ignored the page for assistance and magically vanished. There obviously needs to be a new strategy to keep the shoppers happy with the installment of all of these glass doors. I suggest strictly having an employee on standby not far away from these sections where their work prioritizes opening these doors and assisting the costumers. My joyful shopping experience at this target is declining because of the wait time that I have to endure during my shopping. Again, I came to realize the wait time for assistance to open the glass doors is especially longer in the laundry section rather than the hygiene sections. To be honest, I've already been looking elsewhere to purchase these products that aren't behind glass doors that I usually would buy from target that are now behind glass doors. You may end up having a decline in sales if other people start feeling as frustrated with the process the same way...
Read moreMy neighborhood Target did not have 2 items I wanted so I chose to pick them up here. When I arrived to pick them up, I had 2 more people with me so they wanted to shop a little. So we did. At self checkout, I wanted to use gift cards on my app wallet ($20) but it was my 1st time using a virtual gift card within the Target app and the employee assigned to self checkout didn't know what to do either to get it to work. Instead of getting help, she told me to go and stand in another line at a register so a cashier could help me. I declined and just paid so I could head to customer service to pick up my items. As I'm headed over to CS, one of the people with me said "oh i got your stuff already". I was not happy. How can customer service just give my purchases to anyone who says my name? She didn't have the barcode to scan to confirm she was me or anything. She wasn't even asked for ID. She literally went to the counter, told them my LAST NAME only and was given my items. What kind of service is this? So just anyone can pick up my stuff? What's the point of placing my name as the pickup person and having the barcode? I thought that was reckless and I may not have wanted anyone else to see what I was buying. No one at customer service could explain why this happened as the employee who did it was gone that quick and no where to be found. Its inappropriate and very disappointing. You don't get a second chance to make a...
