UnCommons — Local services in Spring Valley

One of the hidden gems of West Spring Valley located directly across Durango Dr from Durango Casino and Resort and immediately south of the 215. I visit here often and it is one of my favorite places in all of Las Vegas. It is listed here on Google as a "business center" and that's misleading. It is a relatively new mixed-use lifestyle community of retail, restaurants, office buildings, and upscale residential apartments. Thrre is a lot to unpack here but will summarize some of the highlights with a Top Ten list. Free parking on the street (time limits are clearly marked on the curbs) and up to 2 hours of free parking in any of their conveniently located parking structures. Great mix of casual and fine dining with more opening soon. Rare Society (steakhouse) looks like it is opening soon (this review is September 2025), Urth Caffe, Siempre, General Admission Sports Bar/Kitchen, Amari, Salt & Spoon Ice Cream, Blue Bottle Coffee, and more. Most all places have outdoor patio (shaded) seating options or some type of outdoor seating nearby. The outdoor Quad area located just behind Urth Caffe is a beautifully landscaped outdoor space with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy any time of the day or night, a small "event" area that, on select weekend evenings, may have performance artists, yoga, or some other entertaining selection happening. I bring my breakfast or lunch with me and enjoy the chill music, the overall ambiance, and being within the trees and warm lighting that makes me feel I am miles away - like a mini-staycation. They also have a Farmwr's Market (check schedule for specifics), and other events (a monthly classic car show that is GREAT!) Free parking. Up to 2 hours in any of their parking garages. After that, signs posted at the entrances clearly state their very reasonable rates based on time increments. Also a limited amount of timed curbside parking. The vibe is chill, low-key, upscale, and friendly. Everything is impeccably clean and well-manicured. The staff here should be commended for doing an outstanding job at keeping the grounds, common spaces, walkways, garages, piblic restrooms, and all areas extremely well-looked after. Very dog friendly. There are "dog spots" that have poop bags, watering stations, and some with a metal bowl built in that you can re-fill there with fresh tap water for your pooch! There is a lot of shade within the quad area to keep your dog out od direct sunlight when the outside temperatures permit. There are a lot of smaller outdoor seating areas that feel more intimate and are tucked away throughout the areas, some with glass rock fireplace pits you can turn on. The office buildings and apartment building are built around the perimeter of the retail spaces and they form a natural sound and wind barrier. The streets all have great landscaping and it all help continue its chill vibe. Overall, it's a beautiful, well thought out lifestyle area oasis that I would encourage you to visit,...

The UnCommons is a nice addition to the area and offers a great, modern space to hang out. It's got a sleek design, and the open-air feel with the central green space is a great touch. You'll find a decent selection of shops, a movie theater, and some trendy places to grab a drink. It's a clean, well-maintained development, and it’s a good alternative to the chaos of the Strip.

However, the experience is a bit hit-or-miss, and a prime example is the service at Antico Vinaio. The sandwiches themselves are pretty good—they’re big and the ingredients are fresh. But the service can be incredibly slow and disorganized. We waited in a long line just to order, and then the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and forgetful. It’s frustrating to know that a restaurant with a reputation for great food has such a tough time with the customer experience.

Overall, The UnCommons is a good, but not great, place. It has a lot of potential and some good spots, but the inconsistencies in service, like the one at Antico Vinaio, can definitely bring down the overall impression. It’s worth checking out, but be prepared for a mixed bag depending on...

I feel like the uncommons is the suburbs cosplaying as the city. As someone who lives in the heart of downtown I was a little creeped out by the faux graffiti and the buildings that were playing like a walkable urban area, and then noticed the sad beige moms having coffee and the Maserati in the parking garage parked crooked in the handicap spot and was instantly taken to the dystopian future of what the world is coming to. I mean listen, if you like the notion of driving to a "safe" and "clean" version of a downtown area and getting a $20 sandwich then it's for you. There's nothing wrong with the uncommons, it's just not for everyone. I would say if you like the culture and diversity of the urban areas of town then this is not the space for you.
