I've been eyeing this green bin for several trips now. On our trip today, we were pleased to see the price had come down to $22.99. We are in the house buying process so definitely in the stressful penny pinching/no big purchases until we close phase. We get to the register, and it was ringing up $34.99. We used the help feature and an employee came to assist. He instructed us that we had to go find the tag and take a picture of it. (A request that is much more reasonable in a Petco or much smaller footprint store. I've always asked my staff to do price or signage checks themselves, personally.) I had glanced at the name of the product on the bin and made sure it was the same as on the tag, because there were only two left. I did not scrutinize the label any further, who checks the item or barcode number on every item? I had my fiance send me the photos when he made it back to the section. He noted that someone had picked up the other one (rest were all up on display/overstock.) He also found a similar item that was smaller, and sent me that one. I noticed in the picture, they stocked the whole pallet under the price tag of $34.99. Meaning, they were swapped. You can even see the imprint of the larger bins under the $22.99 sign. The name of the products are identical, and so are the item numbers expect for one digit. I told the employee that they had to been stocked backward, so they're all advertised incorrectly. I've got retail management background so I know enough to make sure to take a quick look at the tag, but they're close enough even employees got them swapped up. The employee said he was unable to match the advertised price. He stated they were brand new (but I noticed them several months ago?), which didn't feel relevant or helpful. We opted not to buy it. It just felt unreasonable to have us wait in line, run halfway back through the store, catch that all of them were incorrectly stocked, and then not have IKEA meet us halfway for a steep price difference of.... $12. Are they obligated? Nope. But it was a really disappointing interaction. We went to window shop and start planning for decor for a half million dollar home that needs blinds, new couch, rug, decor, dressers. It's not a money issue, it was more like we were being told our time and membership was not worth $12. I've never asked for a discount or made a return to IKEA. Member number should they wish to reach out....
Read moreMy friend ordered items online a couple months ago at the San Diego store. I checked in on my phone and waited 15 minutes before I went to the pickup counter. When I got to the pickup area, the girl who helped me was talking story with her friends and my order wasn’t even prepared. She gave me a disgusted look since i was interrupting her cconversation and I was just shocked. She went in the back and everything’s nicely packed IN A BOX and I asked her are you sure everything is in there cause my friend didn’t send me a copy of what she bought. Again the girl gave me a disgusted look and said everything is all there. Turns out all the stuff my friend ordered for her dog wasn’t there and the girl was too lazy to pull it. She wasn’t charged for it so technically I got everything that was paid for. I was in Vegas this past week so I offered to pickup all the stuff that was missing from the last order. I get there on my way to the airport and find all the stuff my friend ordered in a shopping cart. I was surprised because the San Diego store packed my items nicely, even though it was missing 10+ items. I was shocked and asked the girl to put it in a box. She gave me a disgusted look like something was wrong with me for asking her to put my items in a box. I see a whole pile of boxes in the back. I don’t know where she went but she brought a big oversized box which was way too big so I asked her to get me a smaller one since I am carrying it on the plane. She again gave me a disgusted look and shook her head going back again to grab a box. After 5 minutes, she comes back with a box and just throws it in my cart. No one is waiting behind me so I ask her to pack my stuff for me. Usually when I buy something from the store, they put it in a bag for me. I do not have to ask them to do it. I asked to speak to her manager since I thought I was being mistreated by a girl who knew nothing about customer service. The manager came and told me their store doesn’t box things for customers and I was even lucky to get a box because all their boxes are destroyed as soon as items are delivered to their store. I don’t know why everyone is so crazy about IKEA. To me, their furniture quality has gone down a lot and they are fine with hiring people with no customer...
Read moreI have never been so upset as I was yesterday when I stopped in to get something to eat at the small snack bar located downstairs in Ikea. Well let me tell you that I couldn't believe how I received my frozen yogurt. The employee put it in a big cup and filled about 3 tablespoons of yogurt. I looked in the cup and said what is this. She tells me "oh we ran out of the cups that it supposed to go in so this is how we have to do with this replacement cup" .I said that's crazy was here last month and that's not how the other girl at the time working gave me the yogurt. She then got loud and said look this all we got to serve the yogurt and we don't fill it up. I said to her I can't believe this I don't want it. It's not worth paying If you're only going to put this much in a cup. I told her I would like my money back and then she got so loud. I said is there a manager and she's giving me attidude? She said is going to take my manager a while to come here and which it didn't even take her a long time. When she arrived, I thought she was going to be nice and explained to me why the yogurt is served like this.No she was just as rude as the other african american lady who is taking care of me. She told me the Same thing and she couldn't even accommodate me and said I will fill it up a little more. She didn't even apologize. So I will not be going to this snack bar ever again in Ikea. They have lost me business 😪 What the head manager who runs that store needs to do is go and teach these employees some manners cause they don't have it.They are nasty and miserable with life.I don't understand why they are so unhappy. They have a job they get paid well and they can't even provide good customer service. This Ikea in Las Vegas doesn't compare to the ones I have been to in under State. It's definitely much better and employees don't treat the customers like garbage. So if you are shopping and decide to stop by and get a snack at their mini food court area don't. You better off going to a fast food place then to give them any money to eat there....
