We redid the flooring in our entire home (2,500 sq. ft.), which we knew wouldn't be a fun process. After getting three quotes and reading many reviews, we decided that Page's was the way to go. Ron made us instantly comfortable with the process (and explained approximately 672 times that they were going to make the biggest mess we've ever seen in our lives).
Ron was right: It was a mess. But from the moment Willie and Wesley walked in, they did everything in their power to make it as painless as possible. They consistently asked which rooms were a priority to access (before "Jenga"ing an entire floor's furniture into one room) and hermetically sealed every doorway and cabinet, to keep as much jack-hammer dust contained as possible. They laughed and joked and sang (although not always on key), and they put up with our crazy dog. They also uncovered a not-so-fun structural issue that involved bringing in a contractor, to prevent the corner of our house from falling down. Kudos to Jason for pitching in too!
I was highly impressed that they managed to finish the entire job in 2-1/2 weeks...and remembered about 95% of the time where the furniture belonged! They laid the floors beautifully. Their concern with both the quality of their craftsmanship and our comfort were unparalleled.
Even though he initially tried to steer me away from the bathroom tile I loved, Ron gladly dropped in to install it himself...and then admitted that it looked good after all (HA HA). I appreciated the back-and-forth interactions throughout the process about the best configurations for patterns, etc.
When a couple minor touchups were needed after completion, the team came out quickly to take care of things.
They know what they're doing, from beginning to end. I've been recommending Page's...
Read moreI needed new carpet in my home, so I checked out the various merchants in my area. The best one seemed to be Page Flooring in Springboro, so I decided to check them out.
I called the store and talked to a salesman who quoted me $38 a square yard (3' x 3'). That included take up, disposal, pad, installation and the carpet. When I visited the store, the owner told me I was quoted the wrong price. The correct price of course was higher. I thought to myself, "bait and switch?" I should have walked, but we agreed on $38 if I would pay cash saving the merchant the credit card company's fee. So I hired Page to do the job.
Two guys showed up to do it. They weren't very friendly, but I'll give them Kudos for doing an excellent job. However, after the job was done, I had some regrets about employing Page.
The size of my home is 1683 square feet or 187 yards. Looking at the quantity of carpet the Page estimator sold me, 158 yards, and the waste or leftover carpet, I think I was over sold carpet.
In my calculation, I am considering areas in my home that didn't require carpet: a large kitchen and dining area, two bathrooms, utility room, and foyer.
So this is an old story, you can't trust anyone. In short, I've got Rage because I hired Page.
The character Page sent out to do the estimate for carpet didn't spend much time doing it, so basically, what I got was a wild guess.
I challenge Page to come out and measure my home for carpet and justify 158 yards. He won't do that. He'll just obfuscate the issue with vague suggestions like talk to Bill, Joe, or some other stooge in his organization, or hide behind some legalize in his contract.
Well I have my own ways of resolving matters with Merchants...
Read moreThe floor salesman that was assigned to assist me came down the back hallway with a stern look on his face and was very unfriendly throughout my 10 minute conversation with him. I told him what I was looking for and he kept directing me to slats of LVP that was on the floor, which was not what I wanted. I asked about the mm and waterproof levels of their LVP and he showed me the labels on some over by the wall, stating they are waterproof. He then asked me "why do you want to put LVP in a laundry room, because if the hot water heater were to explode, it would be disastrous. I would suggest you just put down an area rug". That is when I turned around and walked out. He obviously did not want my business, by his attitude. It, is not up to a salesperson to make those kinds of suggestions and to sabotage a potential sale. I called a short time later and asked for the manager and he stated he had stepped out. I found I was speaking to the salesperson himself, and explained to him that it was not up to him to offer his opinions on what I wanted to accomplish, and he said, "I was just trying to help you". Helping me would have been trying to do all you could, to make the sale, and to make a potential customer comfortable in the transaction. I know this will be glossed over by management, and that is ok, I just wanted the public to know that it is not ok to have a salesperson make unwarranted suggestions when that person has most likely already been to many other businesses and is stressed with the process. The manager or owner tried to call me later that afternoon, but I was beyond consoling at that point. My 7 year old grandson even asked "why was that man being so...
