Mitchell's Salon & Day Spa — Local services in Springdale

So the woman who had taken care of my hair for 5 years absolutely lost her mind and kicked me out of her shop with my head half shaved. I have never been kicked out of anywhere. I've worked in the service industry for 25 years, I make it a point to treat everyone who works with the public with the utmost respect. However, this girl messaged me the morning of my standing appointment telling me she was in a lot of pain from moving and could we do my color on my next appointment and move my haircut from 11:30 to 1. I said sure. I understand. I asked if she wanted me to find someone else to clean up my cut so she could rest, and even told her I would do my own color since my gray was coming through pretty bad. She proceeded to tell me if I did my own color then she wouldn't lift my hair anymore. I said ok. I'll just have to deal with the consequences since I've went back to work full time and I am no longer as flexible as I used to be. From the moment I entered her shop, I just got a bad vibe. I tried to talk out the hair color situation and she proceeded to tell me how much pain she's in, can't feel her hands etc. Never really letting me speak. My answer to this maybe it's time for a new line of work if you're in this much pain. She starts yelling at me about how I've been rude to her before and tells me to get out of her chair and leave her shop. I was absolutely flabbergasted with her actions. I left, and after my heart stopped pounding, I called Mitchell's. I explained a little of the situation. The reservationist was so warm and empathetic. She found me someone right away. The front desk team had me checked in within seconds, and Helaina, the stylist, went out of her way to make me feel welcome and comfortable after such a traumatic event. I'd always went to this Mitchell's before I decided to give a small independent a try and was happy to be back! I won't be leaving again! You just can't beat the level of skill and customer service! Thank you so much to everyone who turned that awful day...

05/21/2018 So as a gift I had the head to toe spa package... It says around 6 hours and 45 minutes. Well I was there almost 9... Got there at 8:45 as requested and lunch at almost 3. The massage and facial was the best part of the first time experience by far. The hair cut is HORRIBLE! I asked for LONG LAYER'S JUST ENOUGH TO GIVE MY HAIR SOME DEFINITION! What I got was a wide variety of layers and SHORT so now my hair looks just stupid. It has all this body on one side and it's flat as a pancake on the other. The manicure and pedicure was just okay...The make up was good but the make up was just thrown in some drawer and looked like it was about 15 years old. The wait time in between each service was crazy, over all this wasn't the experience I had heard about or read about. Then as I was checking out they attempted to charge me for a hair treatment that's was listed on the website and the type of package THAT I NEVER EVEN GOT! I even asked about it after the hair session and was told they don't even do that it's just a basic wash and dry and cut. This was horrible day! I'll never come back and now it's get half my hair cut off to fix the layers or have more added. Very disappointed!!. However the attitudes of everyone was so awesome, very polite and energetic!

I wish I could leave two reviews. I came in for two different services that day with very opposite results. I had booked a 20 minute massage as well as a free hair consultation. I am getting married in September and simply wanted some ideas for styles.

Sarah, my massage therapist, was very friendly. I will be going back for a second massage with her to try out the hot stone massage. If my ratings were based on my massage alone, this review would have been a five star.

The hair consultation was, however, a complete waste of time. I asked the stylist to suggest a few styles that she thought might compliment my dress choice and hair texture. I had not even spoken with her for 3 minutes. She told me she could not help me. She did not have time to despite the fact this was a scheduled visit. She had no suggestions what-so-ever except go look online bring in the photos of the ones you like and for $40 they could test the styles. Why bother to set up a consultation if you aren't going to CONSULT with me. Had she had a single useful idea or suggestion, I would have gladly come in and had the $40 styling done. Negative stars to this stylist. You just lost a...
