Some of the reviews for this place are incorrect. Let's clear up a few things.
I can report that:
Yes this place has green beans.
No there aren’t any quality issues. I didn’t get sick, the food was very good, The place was spotlessly clean and I was comfortable with every aspect.
NO items were cold.
Only one item was somewhat tough/overcooked/firm: the bourbon chicken.
The rest of the food was Absolutely fine in that respec. (And I really liked the food that I ate.).
I agree with all the positive things I read another reviews here’s a sampling:
Although the place has smaller selection, I thought the food was higher quality than most or all of the buffets that I’ve been to.
The employees here really do seem to be on top of replenishing the food and checking for probably because everything seems really fresh and nothing was dried out. Except for the bourbon chicken. It was pretty tough. But acceptable and I liked it.
Now some stuff that you might not of seen in other reviews:
This place is quieter in smaller than most other buffets. It has high ceilings and pony of carpeting, so it’s more pleasant to eat here. Also has loads of windows, so most seats have plenty of light and it’s really enjoyable.
Some complaints that we can dismiss:
I read in one of the reviews that someone was complaining about the ratio of American foods to Chinese American foods? Get real. That doesn’t matter. All that matters is if there are enough items that you want from each category. Ratios don’t matter. I was happy with the selections.
Minor complaints but they ultimately don’t matter:
On reflection, it would be nice if they had more variety. But I didn’t notice that because I enjoyed the selections that I ate so much. do you spinach with a bit of cheese and garlic and it is divine.
It would have been very nice if they didn’t have included some pork mixed with vegetables and sauce dishes, maybe a beef dish (No, the ground beef cracked and enticing puff pastry does not count), and perhaps a sushi that has an actual piece of fish on top of them. And I do like chicken with peanut sauce. They didn’t have it.
Edit: there is uncooked beef by the grilll.
But, to be fair, the price of this buffet is $8.50. That’s truly an amazing price. So let’s be honest. But I rather pay the same price at a different buffet and have the missing items, but not the quality? Or, would I rather have you here equality, and missed a few dishes that I more or less mostly don’t really notice. Are you serious, when I’m in the area, I’ve always chosen this place and really liked it. I’m in other parts of town, I pick something that has.
But ultimately this place is better than the others.
Note, the review above my review here was written in 2019. I tried to update it because of a few misspellings, and the app updated the review to look like it was written in 2022. Not true....
Read moreThis used to be the spot for myself and my fiance. We started going there around a decade ago and sadly stopped going about 2 years before Covid, due to transportation issues. We finally decided to go back, as this places was kinda special to us and our relationship. I wish we never would have went back. The ONLY good thing I had was the fried shrimp. Everything else was either old, bland or both. Their General Tso's didnt even taste right, was soggy from sitting there for a long time, its my fav but I couldnt even eat more than 3 pieces. there was a single crab leg sitting there for over an hour and never replenished. so many soggy items because they had been sitting for so long. Hate me for saying this if you want, but if you looked at the back of the house staff and 85% of the customers, you would have thought you were in a hispanic restaurant. I wont say that this is why the food sucked, but it didnt taste like it had the love of a good chinese buffet it was nowhere close to "authentic". 2 people, 2 drinks, $36. we will likely not be going back after this visit. It just isnt anything close to what is was maybe 5 years ago. Very disappointed, would...
Read moreHeard great things, decided to treat myself after being hospitalized for a week. From the moment I walked in they were trying to shove me out the door. Grabbed two small plates from the buffet. Soon as I sat down, the waitress walked up and tried to take one and I had to stop her and told her I hadn’t touched it yet, didn’t help that she was smoking right outside the front door when I came in. Went back up to get hibachi, didn’t even get into my chair and she was shoving the bill in my face before I could even sit down. Had to tell the gentleman at the hibachi to cook my food longer. I had egg, shrimp and beef with noodles and vegetables, he tried to cook it for 15 seconds, no sauce or water to try and steam it. He got mad when I said it wasn’t cooked. You could tell the beef was still frozen in the middle and the shrimp was still raw. Rest assured though, the second my card touched down in the payment disk next to the fortune cookie, I didn’t even have a chance to pick up the cookie before the waitress swooped in to pick it up and charge it. Likely won’t ever be back. Which is a shame. Very rude to treat customers that way when the place has...
