My first experience at Planet Fitness Finneytown was out of this world!
From the very beginning, John gave me my orientation walk-around, and it set the tone for the whole place—relaxed, non-intimidating, and welcoming. As he showed me around, members kept coming up to laugh and joke with him, which not only showed me the great atmosphere but also let me meet a few people along the way. It felt like a family. John was thorough, patient, and smiling the whole time—I never once felt rushed.
The gym itself? Super clean. And I mean super clean. The staff were quietly vacuuming and wiping down small spots the entire time, moving around members without disrupting anyone. It was almost stealth mode—you wouldn’t notice unless you looked, but you could tell their mission was to keep the gym spotless so we could focus on our workouts.
At the desk, I met a guy named Logan and woman named Joey, who were both incredibly friendly and helpful. They made it easy to figure out how to use the massage chair and HydroMassage bed—and wow, those spa amenities are absolutely worth it. After my workout, that recovery experience sealed the deal.

I cancelled in person and the staff member said everything was all set and I could still use the facility until the 16th of the month. I then moved out of town thinking everything was all set. A couple weeks later I realized my bank account had been charged twice-- once for the monthly fee and once for the yearly fee AFTER I HAD BEEN TOLD MY MEMBERSHIP WAS CANCELLED. I called the gym and spoke to manager who said he was having computer issues but would call me back with additional information for cancelling if needed. Read moreI little bother that this establishment did not bother to inform it's member that it resume taking out monthly two months after closing their doors due to the pandemic. No emails. I discover they were charging when I look at my bank statement in July of this year. When I inquire when they started to charge, they gave a vague answer but looking around the answer was simple, the fitness center had more staff behind the desk than members in the fitness center. This is a corporation that is only concern for the bottomline. If you think you are a former member, check your bank statement, they debit a year of member fees knowing that have not step foot in the fitness center in 15 months.
