Perches Tortillaria in Elfindale part bar, part restaurant altogether a great place! Mexican decor is subtle, background music is just that in the background not blaring and forcing you to yell at your companion to be heard. Vibe is warm and welcoming. I ordered the Friday special, Chili Verde, a pork stew with potatoes in a green chili tomatillo sauce with a slight kick to it. Served with Spanish rice and refried beans and your choice of corn or flour tortillas. This was where my few complaints come in...refried beans were pureed to the consistency of a dip. Couldn't get them on my fork. That's not refried beans. Other than that the food was great, but served lukewarm. Flavors were dynamite! But Mexican food should be served too hot to eat and as it cools down to your range then you dig in! Need to invest in longer straws. Mine kept getting lost in the huge glass of tea. Read moreTortillaria is pretty freaking good. One of my favorite Hispanic food restaurants. They always follow any kind of special instructions you have for what you order.. there's always good sized portions. I left 4 stars instead of 5 because it tends to run just a tad bit expensive for me. That's why we don't eat there a lot, just every so often.. however, when we do eat there- it's always good. We've only had one time where they messed our food up. I ordered shrimp tacos and they gave me Carne asada type of tacos. We didn't realize it was wrong until we got home, so my brother drove all the way back over there to let them know. When they found out that they had made a mistake and we had to drive back to the restaurant, they made it right IMMEDIATELY and gave us a gift card for our next meal. This place has kind, polite people, amazing cooks and delicious food. Thank you...
Read moreI visited Merle Norman on Saturday. I was cheerfully greeted by 'Janet', a very pleasant lady. I pur hased a cream blush that a " little dab will do ya" for around $10. It's a very small amount but packs a big punch. I haven't worn Merle Norman because I'm older and remember the cake foundation that I used in my younger days. I will go back and try their liquid foundation at a later date. It was a good experience but pricey as all better quality makeup is but I was happy to finally find a Cream blush. Thanks Merle Norman....
