Golden Korean Restaurant — Restaurant in Springfield

Place is just a hole in the wall, but I held onto hope thinking that I've had good experiences in these types of establishments. However I was soon to be very disappointed. This wasn't our first choice the evening we went, but it was still Korean. However, my kids hopes were dashed when they told us they were OUT of fried rice. How can you be OUT of fried rice....they had rice but obviously no ability to cook it as fried rice. 🤔 I got the jjangmyeon - my first time having it, so idk if it was supposed to taste like that and I just didn't care for it or if it just wasn't good. 🤷 My husband's chicken teriyaki meal consisted of plain chicken chunks drizzled with teriyaki sauce and some steamed rice. I went on 9/11/22. While the food was phenomenal, the service was God awful.

I don't know if the waitress was having a bad day or if she was just in a bad mood, but there was only one other table there (a party of 6) who was already taken care of and my party of 3. Yet it still took her 20 minutes to get our drink orders, another 25 to come back to get it food order, we didn't recurve a refill on our drinks until we were literally about to leave another 40 minutes later. Then her attitude at the pay counter was just ridiculous.

Food was good, waitress was nice and mostly attentive (drink ran dry and stayed dry). Now, I am not sure if they want repeat customers, but when a customer notifys you of an allergy to rice and asks for the meal to be prepared w\o said rice, normally you leave out the rice. Here they will tell you to "pick something else." I have to say it was like being in that Seinfeld episode only everything was great or amazing. Should have guessed as much seeing how we were the only ones there. Also, you can tell business isn't so good when sodas are served from a can.
