What an honor and a privilege it was to visit the final resting place of this nations greatest president. I started off walking from the Amtrak station to the Lincoln museum. On the way I stopped by to see the old rail depot from which this great man departed Springfield on his way to Washington, DC, never to return again but for a trip to his final resting place. I then visited his home and finally here, to Oak Ridge, his final resting place. This was truly an awe inspiring visit. To stand before one of this earth's greatest men. To reflect on his work and his life. I stood in silence and in awe, making sense of his humble beginnings and his trajectory to unparalleled greatness. What a monument to this man and it was earned through the sacrifice of hundreds of thousands. Thank you Mr. President for your service to this country and your desire to bring...

They were asked time after time to not touch my friend gravesite. To leave what people left there there and twice now they have removed it with no compassion or regret. We have spent hundreds of dollars to put these items there to honor her and time after time they show that they have no respect for the dead. It's truly disgusting. They threw away her sherpherd hooks, hanging baskets, flowers, etc. Everything we have put out there. I will be telling everybody I met not to get buried here or have their love ones buried here unless they want to be...

We went on the yearly cemetery walk, the volunteers were in period dress and described the lives of the people that made Springfield what it is today. Oak Ridge is a stunning cemetery, well designed and where Lincoln and his family are buried. They had Lincolns funeral coach on display, next to his...

Beautifully kept grounds and such a unique part of American history! The Lincoln family's tomb is easy to park and walk to/through and includes several beautiful sculptures and facts about the President's early years and legacy. This is also a National Historic Site and a must-see stop for any history lovers traveling through Illinois.

Beautifully maintained cemetery. Worth it just for a view of Lincolns tomb, but they have marked numerous other historic and notable gravesites so there is definitely more there to explore.
