Fortuna Games is literally on the NE corner of Kingshighway & Magnolia, so parking can be problematic. Since most gamers enjoy problem solving, here’s you CHEAT CODE FOR PARKING. The best parking is on Magnolia, but only on the Eastbound side (next to the Park. The Westbound side has no parking for the 2 blocks closest to Kingshighway. DO NOT Park on Gurney Court, the cute cul de sac closest to Kingshwy. Gurney Court is a private street and you are likely to be towed. The rest of the parking options are counterintuitive because they are on the other side of Kingshwy. 3a) Columbia Ave is right across the street. Look for the Shanti Yoga sign. 3b) Just North of Columbia is Botanical Ave. (Look for the Dry Cleaner 3c) Just North of Botanical Ave is Walgreens. If you’d rather not hunt for parking, you could always start by parking here, then enjoying the short walk.
Fortuna Games is a great mom & pop small business on the NE corner of Kingshighway & Magnolia, just North of Tower Grove Park. It’s a place to learn about, buy and play games. They have tables set up where you can play. You can bring your own or sample some of the many they have there. Just tell them then the types of games you’ll like and they’ll have great recommendations. Customer Service is EXCELLENT and...
Read moreThis is my gf and my favorite place to visit. The owners are always kind and gracious, and they have a great selection of both Pokemon and Magic cards, both in single cards as well as pack/boxes you won't find at other places.
The store also has a warm and clean environment, free of the gross stereotypes you may hear about game stores. I have never had a bad experience, and the owners are more than happy to answer any questions they can for you (They have names, I am just terrible at remembering names, I am sorry if you are reading this).
I am not the type of person to post reviews, but that is to show how much I love Fortuna, and if it helps anyone choose to go there, I will be more than happy with the time spent writing this review. Fortuna deserves any and every 5* review, and I have no reason to believe anything less than that because the owners are unbelievably nice and care about their customers.
Keep up the good work, and I will be back in soon with my gf to raid the Pokemon section...
Read moreMy partner and I went in to buy a boardgame for a friends birthday. Great inventory of both classic games, locally made games and indie secret hits. The venue is in the owners basement and while they sounds campy for an lgs, both the space and their personal home is beautiful and spacious. On their walls have lists of all their events and product drops which was helpful. It was easy to find a game for my friend and quickly we had a personal pile going. Reluctantly we had to put most down because splurging wasnt in the budget. I don't know if the owner overheard us whispering about our tight budget but at check out, the owner gifted us a game for free and an expansion pack to a game we already had at home. Took me aback and definitely had to hold back some emotions. I'm out of the paper tcg scene but I was so impressed with my experience I've considered dropping by for an event. Always recommend this place to your friends both poffesionally nerdy like me or someone starting to...
