Vegan vibes with my sis @bclayton. We had a chance to check out one of the best vegan spots STL has to offer and it did not disappoint! @treehouse_stl #vegan #stl #restaurant #business

We managed to drop in for brunch recently. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was good. The Tofu Benedict was quite nice with arugula on top. I would have questioned the wisdom of the cornbread as an ingredient ... But it was a thin layer and the flavor balanced nicely with the rest and it wasn't over powering. I would definitely get it again. The Cuban ... was not my cup of tea, personally, very basic with pretty much just an overpowering amount of smokey cheese. The Seitan seemed nice in it though, just no tomato, or sauce, or other flavors to round it out. Presumably the way a Cuban should be. The SO enjoyed it, just not my thing. We got a side pancake which was good. The home fries that the main dishes came with were alright, but not crispy and a little bland. We also shared a mocha, definitely an espresso lovers mocha and not a chocolate lovers mocha ... Only a hint of chocolate and no balance. But loved by the SO for the espresso. (They did happily add some more chocolate sauce.) *** This was a lovely little restaurant with a nice atmosphere, nicely decorated, and the food was definitely the highlight. The porch seating combined with beautiful weather made for a very pleasant dinner. They had unique and interesting scratch made dishes. Everything I tried was delicious. They even have a small garden on site, which I believe supplies some of their fresh herbs for use in the restaurant. I would say it was slightly on the upper scale side and priced as such - so a slightly expensive dinner after you get a few things - some small but delicious plates, absolutely worth it for the high quality and interesting dishes. I tried their Fried Beets, Ravioli, and Truffles, I don't remember the exact flavors now, but I remember really enjoying it. It was a little dark in the evening, but I got a few photos. I look forward to my next chance to drop in and try their offerings again!

We came to St.Louis for a little birthday getaway and I had to check out this place and it did not disappoint! We started with dinner (with reservations) on a Saturday night. We found street parking nearby and walked a short distance. We were greeted by our server Antonia not long after we arrived. My partner ordered a NA cocktail made with NA spirits and I had the “plum blossom” cocktail- literally was such a great cocktail I wanted to savor every sip. For appetizers we got the krab rangoon and hush puppies with the amazing vegan ranch sauce (we asked for more). All of the food came out in a timely manner by the friendly servers. The flavors were perfectly balanced and sauces paired well with them. For dinner he got the “smoked maitake mushrooms” dish and I got the “mushroom ravioli with brussel sprouts.” My dish was served hot and the crispy brussel sprouts went well with the creamy and savory ravioli. My partner had his eyes closed and ate the slowest I’d ever seen him eat- he savored every bite (and he’s an omnivore!) For dessert we got the cinnamon roll bread pudding that was served with a cute birthday candle. It was served with a rich warm chocolate sauce. We scraped our plates clean! Our server Antonia was sweet, attentive, and personable with our experience. This place is one of my favorite restaurants I have ever been to and my (omnivore) partner said that was one of the best dinners he’s ever had in a long time.

I am baffled by all the good reviews for this place. We arrived at 7pm on a Wednesday evening. About 1/3 of the tables were free when the hostess asked if we had a reservation. We are visitors to St Louis and didn’t know we needed one. She scowled but seated us anyway. It took 15 minutes for a waitress to come over and ask for our order. I had questions about the Maitake mushroom dish, which said it was vegan and also that it had choirizo and feta. The waitress did not know anything about the dish. Could not answer basic questions but said she would check. She did not. She did say it was a large quantity of food though. Someone else came to take our order. She also did not know any answers to the questions. It was the only item not sold out on the menu right then that said vegan so I took a chance and ordered it. My son ordered a beyond burger. It took 45 minutes for our meals to arrive. No one checked on us or refilled our 8 ounce water glasses.

When the food arrived the mushroom dish was about 2 cups of food. The menu said polenta, but what came was grits. The entire dish was sitting in at least a half inch of orange colored oil. The grits had a couple spinach leaves on top with a small amount of mushrooms and sour cream on top.

The whole dish was small, oily and tasteless. It cost $23.

My son’s beyond burger was on Aldi gluten free bread with Aldi vegan cheese and an anemic salad. It was supposed to come with fries but instead came with chopped potatoes. This meal would have cost $1.50 to make at home. Here it was $20.

This meal was awful, overpriced, too little food, and...

On 08/03/25 tried Tree house for the first time and our experience was disappointing to the point that we will never return or suggest to others to try it. We sat on the patio and our server met with the other three tables of patrons two of them more than once before ever coming over to acknowledge we were seated. The length of time it took for our server to come over and being ignored repeatedly almost made us walk out wish we had. When our server came over we asked how his day was going. He response was unprofessional: I’m so tired because I’ve been here since 9am and stayed out way too late last night. We were not given silverware or napkins and had to request them after our appetizer arrived. I asked for a tea list which was never provided. I ordered an iced tea halfway thru our meal. The sourdough Gouda sandwich has too much cheese sauce on it. The side that chosen with it was a salad. Overcooked cold potatoes were given instead. The queso wasn’t warm when it arrived and tasted like chili. The krab cakes were good. The menu states that happy hour starts at 5pm. A tiny asterisk is in the sentence which only applies to three drinks not all the cocktails on the list. This was highly misleading and not explained. We would not have ordered a martini if it hadn’t been on the list or would’ve looked at those three options. Our table was wobbly and needed to be replaced as did the one next to us had a broken piece that was needed to keep it from folding up. The length of time to get our food was quick and the service...
