Visiting my mother in Louisville. Went shopping yesterday with her and went to Red Tree on Market Street to buy some art work but had a terrible experience due to lack of customer service so I did not want to spend any money there. Went into Mamili and had a polar opposite customer service experience. Very welcoming. I bought something for myself but my mom was interested in another Derby hat. The store owner has their Derby hat store next door but it was closed. The lady that was helping us came back outside as we were leaving and offered to open the store for us to go in, WOW- now that is the kind of person you want working for your business! My mom found a hat she liked but it was expensive and said she would come back another day and look, but I gave the lady my credit card to secretly buy it for my mom as part of her Mothers Day present. So I surprised my mom while outside and she was so excited. She has been going on and on about that beautiful hat all day. My recent visit to Mamili was, sadly, very uncomfortable. I first visited in December 2020, and I loved my first experience there due to the kindness and care I received from an old friend who worked there. I can’t say the same for my most recent visit, as my mother and I were treated very condescendingly.

I was very excited to take my mother to Mamili because of all the eclectic, local jewelry and high-quality clothing; however, this visit was exceedingly uncomfortable. The two older blonde women that worked in the boutique were clearly attempting to make us feel inferior.
