As someone with curly hair, it is usually hard for me to find a stylist. However, I wanted to try something new and in the area so I called to make an appointment to get my haircut. At first the person who answered asked if they could place me on hold and hung up on me. I redialed and the same person picked up and asked how they could help me and then I explained that I had just called and she asked if she could place me on hold and hung up instead. She then replied โoh right!โ And then proceeded to set the phone down and in the meantime I waited a couple minutes hearing the customer chatter in the background before being helped. I donโt mind waiting as I understand that this salon seems to be quite popular and well liked within the area. However I found it a bit funny that if was already asked how I could be helped, why not just let me explain that I wanted to book a haircut as well? Anyways, when I was finally asked what I wanted to get done, I said I just wanted a haircut. The only questions I got asked were what length was my hair, had I looked at the social media yet, was there a stylist I wanted, what time I was looking for, and if this was my first time here. This was my first time here and I explained that I had not had the chance to look at the social media page but was not particularly picky about the stylist I got. I havenโt had a haircut in a bit so I just wanted a quick trim to freshen things up so I explained that to the person on the phone and she said no problem that there was an appointment available today at 5 pm which I really appreciated her booking for me. However, when I arrived at the salon for my appointment I was let in and told that one of the newer stylists would be the one to cut my hair. I really dont mind giving new stylists a chance to practice and better their skills so I happily walked in to the sitting area. However, a few minutes later, one of the receptionists came up to me and told me that the stylist that was assigned to me was not particularly specialized in curly hair and did not feel comfortable enough to give me a suitable enough hair cut considering my hair type. I was told that the person in the phone was actually supposed to ask me more specific questions about my hair, specifically if itโs curly or not, in order to determine what the next available appointment with a suitable stylist. I was not asked any of this while on the phone and I was told in store by the employee that it was her sister who had took my call and misbooked me as she does not even work there regularly. The next available appointment for my type of hair isnโt until almost half a month from now and it was a waste of my time to wait all day for this appointment, drive to the salon, and get told this when it couldโve been explained to me on the phone. I was offered a discount for the next time I come in for my haircut but it is unfortunate that the customer service was so bad that I do not think I want to try booking an appointment here at...
ย ย ย Read moreMy experience at Just Braggin has been consistently positive as a customer since 2020, indulging in various services from eyebrow threading to color treatments and haircuts. However, my recent appointment for a haircut with Joy, whom I hadn't booked before but was the only available stylist, turned out to be awful. On the day of the appointment, I faced an unexpected emergency as my dog required immediate surgery, leaving me alone to care for my 4-month-old and tend to my recovering pet. Amidst this chaos, I regrettably forgot about my evening appointment and couldn't call to cancel.
To my dismay, I was charged a $50 cancellation fee, despite my attempts to explain the unforeseen circumstances. Despite reaching out to the salon multiple times to discuss the situation, I was informed that the decision to charge me was ultimately to the stylist. While I empathize with the commission-based nature of a stylist's work, I believe it's unjust to penalize a client for a genuine emergency. I even offered to provide an invoice of my dog's surgery as proof.
Regrettably, the salon opted not to consider the extenuating circumstances or explore the possibility of a refund as a gesture of goodwill. I will no longer be returning as a customer of...
ย ย ย Read moreI'll never go to a salon again after this. I brought in a photo from THEIR OWN WEBSITE that showed very long blonde hair with nice highlights and very subtle long layers. I said that was what I wanted. I was already blonde. After FOUR HOURS I left with hair chopped eight inches shorter, dyed dark chestnut brown with a couple of streaks of blonde in the front and an uneven cut with the fringe around my face chopped off into chunks. I told her I part my hair in the middle; so she parted it on the side. I told her I never curl my hair; she curled it. My hair is so damaged it feels like straw. It will take months to grow any length back and I can't do any more coloring to my hair in the meantime. I burst into tears when I saw myself in my own mirror at home. How the heck I could walk in wanting to be more blonde with long hair and walk out with hair darker than my natural color in a chunky shoulder length I'll never know. First world problems, it's only hair, it'll grow back...but please don't ever treat yourself to anything...
